Any truth to the rumor they were discussing the succession plan for Wright to become coach after Pitino brings a national championship here?
He is too youngAny truth to the rumor they were discussing the succession plan for Wright to become coach after Pitino brings a national championship here?
I believe Wright holds a 1 Win advantage over Pitino in games they Coached against each other .He is too young
But he'll hopefully be 10 years older when Pitino finishes here.He is too young
I seriously doubt Jay Wright waits 10 years to get back into Coaching . He can slide into almost any Job that opens up , pro or college , that he wants . He may wait another year or 2 before doing that .But he'll hopefully be 10 years older when Pitino finishes here.
He's never coaching again.I seriously doubt Jay Wright waits 10 years to get back into Coaching . He can slide into almost any Job that opens up , pro or college , that he wants . He may wait another year or 2 before doing that .
Who ‘s to say , a return to Villanova doesn’t happen , if the Neptune era doesn’t go well?
You just never know .
What Jay Wright did for the Big East after the split should never be forgotten. If the Big East was smart they’d give him a consulting job to keep him connected and visible. Everyone loves Jay Wright. He's never coaching again.
Spot on re: Wright's significance to the "new" league. The founding fathers had help, because there was a bunch of them -- Big John, our beloved Louie, Rollie, Jimmy B. Aided thereafter by our current coach, PJ, etc. Wright and Nova winning multiple titles and becoming a blue blood was beyond significant post-split.What Jay Wright did for the Big East after the split should never be forgotten. It’s crazy to think a decade ago this conference had Pitino, Boeheim, Calhoun, Wright, Dixon and a younger coaches like Cooley, Buzz Williams, and Cronin.
That’s why they like playing for Anderson, because apparently, he let them do whatever the hell they wanted. That’s why during timeouts he had nothing to tell them. When you see how well some of our former players are doing you realize how bad Anderson was here. Especially, the year we had Champagnie , Wheeler and co.Watch this clip and tell me with a straight face most of those guys from last years team- including one guy who is enjoying a newfound popularity around here- wouldn't have quit a week into practice. FOH.
This might have already been discussed but why did Wright retire? And why wouldn’t he want to coach again? Thanks. He's never coaching again.
I would love this year if mic”d the game like they did last year. Would be interesting what Rick pitino has to say. That’s why they like playing for Anderson, because apparently, he let them do whatever the hell they wanted. That’s why during timeouts he had nothing to tell them. When you see how well some of our former players are doing you realize how bad Anderson was here. I think something happened and words were dropped with while you were typing. He's never coaching again.
I think he just wore down. When Pitino joked that he was happy Wright wasn’t coaching anymore, Wright said “so am I!” emphatically. This might have already been discussed but why did Wright retire? And why wouldn’t he want to coach again? Thanks.
I really hope not.I've just assumed that Pitino wants to set Massiello up for the job in a few years' time. He will certainly know the Pitino system inside and out by then.
My guess was Pitino Jr. with Sr. as a special advisor. But hopefully we don’t have to worry about that for a decade.I've just assumed that Pitino wants to set Massiello up for the job in a few years' time. He will certainly know the Pitino system inside and out by then.
