My old man has been dead for over 20 years but I’ll be damned that hoop is still standing proudly in the driveway. Sadly no one plays there anymore. All the kids are gone.

Growing up on public school courts in queens the saying was no blood no foul.

I grew up in Ridgewood/Bushwick. My Dad lived in Maspeth the last 10 years of his life. His 95 year old GF still lives on 60th St. One of my favorite joints as a kid was Wally's on Grand Ave. O'Neill's a staple for many years.

I had to mention Maspeth because I noticed Maspeth Federal is doing some sponsorship for St. John’s. I guess they are horning in on the Ridgewood Savings Bank sponsorship. 🙂 🤣
