NJF maybe I missed something that Eric posted, but to the best of my knowledge what he posted seems to be coming to fruition. And again, he's not some Johnny come lately who's popped on the board just to share some "inside info". He's a long time and extremely measured poster. Way more measured then me.lol. Anyhow, at an exciting time like this, can't we all just get along?

I'm convinced we have disinformation campaigners and guys who I truly believe are hoping he fails so they can complain or say "told you so," and I'm not even certain they are the most miserable ones.
Pitino gets to the Final Four quickly, in four years in his prior stops. Hopefully with NIL and new transfer rules he can stack the roster quickly, but we need guys to leave.
He is 70 and could face a medical issue. Or could decide he wants to retire. Or he is, in fact, washed up and we don't know it yet.
I don't think any of things are worries, but I can easily see ways it can fail.

Listening to Zach talk about the situation one of these "Twitter spaces." Man is he bad at talking on these things. He's saying he thinks Pitino ultimately takes the job but keeps reiterating that it's not a done deal and that Pitino does want to visit the campus and meet with Father Shanley and all that before taking the job. He expects that to happen tomorrow (Sunday) but slim chance it could happen Monday instead.
The dude hosting the space (No clue who he is) says he's been speaking with top donors at Georgetown that want Pitino but are good with Cooley or Shrewsberry but if both of them withdraw from the Georgetown opening then the donors may put serious pressure on their President DeGioia to make a last minute run at Pitino. DeGioia is only holdout on the Pitino situation as of now but the pressure may be too much for him to hold that stance if they swing and miss on their top 2 options. Zach has resisted this possibility as 1) Pitino doesn't want to move and 2) Pitino doesn't want to be anybody's 3rd choice.

If it’s the “curry hicks sage” guy he actually seems pretty connected. I heard a couple minutes but didn’t hear zach on it so maybe it was a different one.
I say we all just turn our phones off for 48 hours and cross our fingers.
The dominoes are going to start falling quickly, now that Shrewsberry is out of the tournament. Georgetown has to get an answer now from Cooley because if he says no, Gerorgetown may miss out on Shrewberry, who is being pursued by Notre Dame. Neither school seems to have a serious interest in Pitino.

The story from the Twitter spaces was that Gtown could turn to Pitino as their 3rd choice, if those first two say no.
Georgetown should have made a run at Pitino. But if they really wanted a guy like Pitino, would they make him their 3rd choice? Behind Micah Shrewsberry? That‘s a slap in the face to Pitino.
