I can't wait until the Big East releases UConn to the depths of the Big 12 or ACC never to be heard from again.More like UConn Ass Hat.
Wow, this is crazy stuff! Can’t wait to eat my words about us not getting five star kids right away! What a terrific class this is shaping up to be. If this kid comes, I wonder who will be leaving to make room and how that would work. The deadline to portal has passed, right and we’ve maxed our scholarships? This has been in the works for a while now but still amazing
Wow, that answers my question. NIL circumventing the scholarship limit — I didn’t think of that. It’s a scary new world. Gotta think kids like Alleyne and Cruz won’t be thrilled with this potential new addition, particularly the former. Guess that’s life.rumor is our next transfer recruit would be a walk on, so as not to remove someone’s scholarship.
the NIL potentially suffices at least for year one.
if it hasnt happened somewhere already, it will.
I don’t know how Pitino is gonna run it, but I’d assume it would put Wicher at the 1, Dingle at the 2 and Alleyne at the 3 as our starters. All are 6’3-6”4”. We’d then have an entire second line. It’s only crowded for this year as Dingle and Alleyne are in their final year and I have no doubt will play a lot. Rick always finds time for his guards and forwards. We will play smaller in general this season as we have a lot of wings and SF’s, but it’s how most teams play. I think it makes it harder for guys like Conway to crack into any rotation though with the talent we have amassed.Wow, that answers my question. I see Conway as more of a 3 or 4 on our team but agree he’ll have to fight for meaningful playing time.Conway sounds like a great kid who works hard but if Wilcher comes on board I just don't see how he gets any meaningful minutes. Wilcher-Dingle-Jenkins-Alleyne is four guards already. Not to mention Cruz Davis.
Players like Alleyne and Cruz have thrived on competition their whole lives. I bet they can't wait.Wow, that answers my question. NIL circumventing the scholarship limit — I didn’t think of that. I agree. Alleyne played meaningful minutes for the national champs. Pitino uses a longer bench than many coaches.Players like Alleyne and Cruz have thrived on competition their whole lives. I bet they can't wait.
I would still start Jenkins at PG. From all accounts, he is not flashy, but he is steady.I don’t know how Pitino is gonna run it, but I’d assume it would put Wicher at the 1, Dingle at the 2 and Alleyne at the 3 as our starters. Wilcher is a stud that is a point guard. Daniss isn’t a pure Pg. Wilcher left UNC most likely because the PG spot was getting crowded. We can start Daniss for sure, but when all is said and done I think Wilcher would be hard to keep down. Obviously Rick will figure it out. They can split time. Just think Wilcher gonna be tough to beat out down the stretch.I would still start Jenkins at PG. From all accounts, he is not flashy, but he is steady.
I say it often, but having a senior with experience in Pitino’s system will help everyone. He can be a second coach on the floor.
No need to rush Wilcher. He will still get minutes because Pitino likes to play with a longer bench.
They will both get minutes for sure. By the way, I do not want to get into a battle of who should start.Wilcher is a stud that is a point guard. Daniss isn’t a pure Pg. I'm all for loaded rosters. Everyone has to prove themselves. Even Soriano or Dingle can find themselves as backups if they don't produce.
