I don’t know how we can tighten our focus when some here have screws loose. We have a better chance of Mgbako than Grant Nelson lol. We'll get a really good player, I have no doubt. Now that there’s just one ship left we can tighten our focus.

Hearing Arkansas has the inside trackI’d absolutely love Grant Nelson, though don’t know how serious of a look we will get. I’d also love Supreme Cook. Wondering if he has 2 years eligibility due to the covid stuff or not? I don’t want too many 1-year players on our roster, but then again, it seems obvious at this point that Rick and Co. can replace them quickly and with very good talent.
Why don't we trade Ruiz and Taylor for an undisclosed amount of cash, a player to be named later and a future portal pick?Screw it. Let's just get Grant Nelson. Then with 3 high level BE talents let's see if STJ can get into the 2nd weekend!
I just knew there would be revenge eventually, with the combination of Anderson’s arbitration and Making Plays in possession of a Pitino voodoo doll.Hearing Arkansas has the inside track
Unfortunately. That kid is a winner. However, plenty of power forwards entering the portal this week. Surprise! surprise! The staff seems ready with a good roster to entice another good player to finish it off.I just knew there would be revenge eventually, with the combination of Anderson’s arbitration and Making Plays in possession of a Pitino voodoo doll.
I was never against hiring Pitino. In fact I have always been a big fan of his coaching abilities. I was against fans that were willing to overlook Pitino's past, and those who were willing to sell their soul to the devil to get Pitino. Once hired I thought he was too quick to jettison the whole team. I was against posters making ridiculous claims without the knowledge to do so and the over exuberance displayed for every move that he made. This roster will not pass my eye test until I see them play. It seems he has brought in some good players (Dingle, Luis, Taylor), lots of seniors who will be gone next year, and a bunch of margnal players) Pitino's biggest hurdle will be making a cohesive basketball team out of 12 players who have never played together before. (yeah, yeah I know 4 Iona players. Big deal. The only one I am hoping can play is Jenkins at PG.Since you were against Pitino from the beginning as well, has the roster passed your eye test?
Reading His recruiting posts were like a 6 week root canal surgeryThis is true!!! you were pretty consistent... Consistently whining about the dismantling of last years team... consistently questioning and mocking every single recruit brought in and consistently weeping over every recruit missed out on.
Most of us on the other hand were pretty consistent as well... Consistently saying we should probably wait for the full process to play out and then evaluate the team once it is fully constructed.
Us sheep have been waiting decades for a hall of fame sheep herder... Now he's here... Happy to wear that sheep badge... ( Mehhhh -- insert your sheep noise here)

No offense but I rather it pass Coach Pitino’s eye test than yoursI was never against hiring Pitino. In fact I have always been a big fan of his coaching abilities. We shall see. I think he’s done a remarkable job from taking the job during the first week of March with almost all of the top 100 HS seniors already committed to colleges. By the way, at what point does a guy who’s been out of the big time in college college coaching for years and gotten right with his family get to receive some level of forgiveness. I guess never. I haven’t, nor has anybody else “sold their soul”. That’s just extreme. At some point, I gotta think the guy has paid the price for the things he’s done.I was never against hiring Pitino. Meanwhile you definitely added a number of qualifiers to your “always been a big fan of his coaching abilities”. Reads as if you rather be right than finally see a winning SJU season.
Last seasons performance has nothing to do with the question you asked me. I have said multiple times that last years performance was atrocious. However, I put the blame on both the coach and the players. Your 2nd statement makes absolutely no sense despite your use of paragraphs.Did last season’s roster pass your eye test while watching it implode in real time?

My last sentence make absolutely no sense? Ok. Sure.Last seasons performance has nothing to do with the question you asked me. I have said multiple times that last years performance was atrocious. Thoughts and prayers brother.I've been struggling with a personal loss, so I haven't posted recently.
I have 'cheated' and checked the Board often to distract me, but then had second thoughts with all the griping. Lol.
But, I want to thank all those who offered their prayers and condolences to me and my family.
I appreciate it very much.
Those gestures have convinced me, that while this is a crazy Board of fanatics, we are a 'family'.
Thank you again all.
And, yes, we've had great recruiting news the past week and quite the fabulous blast today.
I won't post as frequently as I had been for awhile, but please consider me part of this St. John's 'family'.
i stopped reading after the first two sentences lol. long paragraphs - most of us have limited attention span ROFLThat post could have used at least 2 paragraphs too
Very, very sorry for your loss. You're a complete asshat! And you need to watch what you post. I don't care that you included yourself in that post. I reacted strongly because my first grandchild, a boy, was born on April 28, 2018 with a collapsed lung. He fought hard but two days later his other lung collapsed and he passed away. You have no effin' idea what it's like to be called a "failed grandparent" when your very first grandchild died two days after he was born. And there was nothing I could do to ease the pain of my son and his wife. As much as I find you obnoxious and a complete and total asshat, I wouldn't wish what happened to my family on you ever. But you keep on insulting people and making totally inappropriate comments. I'm done with you. My grandson who only lived on this earth for two days had more class and love toward him than you'll ever have in your entire lifetime.
You mean a cohesive unit like the team we fielded last year?Board Alert: now that the Pitino is not putting a competitive roster together narrative has been quickly debunked.
That complaining group will be onto a new narrative: it will be hard for Pitino get so many new players to be a cohesive unit.
They can run with that ad nauseam until Pitino starts smoking teams in November
