Rick’s Targets

“You now have a team that is in position to challenge for a place in the top five of the Big East,” CBS Sports college basketball analyst Jon Rothstein said. “Without question to me they’re an NCAA Tournament team. I think they should have two All-Big East players in Soriano and Dingle, and we’ll see what transpires from there.”

This brings a tear to my eye.

Welcome aboard Dingle

It should be noted, he isn’t fully committed to spending next year in college quite yet.

Dingle has had workouts with the Mavericks and Hawks, and has scheduled workouts with the Bulls on May 13, Jazz on May 26, Cavaliers on May 30 and Celtics on May 31.

Dingle is expected to add a few more shortly.

“I’m going to go ahead and finish up these workouts. We’re going to sit down and have an in-depth talk about what the possibilities might look like for me based on the feedback the teams provide,” he said. “Whatever option is the best at that point in time I’ll decide to go with.”

I’m fairly certain that SJU79 said Dingle will be on a college campus next year and now we know it will be ours.

I haven’t seen him in any mock drafts and he’s an “older prospect” so I’d be very surprised if he goes. Makes total sense for him to do the workouts, get the feedback, etc. SJU79 has also said he’s not going pro, and he’s as well sourced as you can be on him.

Best advice I can give is to avoid Boo Harvey’s and Larry Wright’s posts.

Says it all about Rick in Zach piece

“Really just the opportunity to play for a coach such as Rick Pitino and then going back home, being able to play in the Garden for a coach who’s had so much success at so many different places at so many difference levels,” Dingle, a Valley Stream, N.Y. native who is testing the NBA Draft waters and is focused on seeing the process through until the cutoff date of May 31, said in a phone interview. “I’m really excited to learn from a mind who has been around the game of basketball as much as he has and understands it as much as he has.”

Posh who? Who's missing wusu now? Lol. This team went from a dude to a stud in three months. Now we just need a back up big and we re good to go. Funny how the Anderson story broke yesterday and this today. Good try iron mike but today just makes you even look worse of possible.

There were a few posters, I suppose for reasons of their own, that decided to, in a constant diatribe, criticize Pitino's decision to clean house. After this wonderful addition of Dingle, all I can think of is Ben Affleck getting in the face of that Harvard grad student in Good Will Hunting and screaming "How do you like me now?". Well, to the naysayers, how do you like this roster now? Time for the last of the holdouts to join the celebration that most of us started the moment Coach Pitino was hired.

We've also still got one scholarship to fill. Very exciting times. I'm not sourced, but I'd be pretty surprised if that gets full before June 1st.
