Rick’s Targets

Dingle, Luis and Ware would be terrific. I’m really high on Luis. What a nice little team we’d have on paper with those guys. Not necessarily filled with super stars, but depth, talent and balance. Dingle and Soriano should provide consistent scoring punch and perhaps Luis or Taylor would serve as a reliable third scorer.

I haven't seen an attitude change like this from Boo since his jump from junior to senior year.

So this is pretty impressive:

Cal made Ware a co-captain this season. When asked why he gave it to a kid who doesn't play much, he responded:

“It’s really simple why I did it. Because he is one that everyone listens to. And my thing to him is when they know a guy is leading and may or may not play, yet he’s been the same, they will follow. They will follow.

Yet another reason why there was no need for anyone to get their panties in a bunch over Rick's early recruiting; the transfer portal is constantly being restocked with high level talent. And Rick has, and will continue to be, in the mix with plenty of that talent. We're in the best hands we've been since Louie.

The players I think would help most given current roster:

1a. Dingle
1b. Mgbako
1c. Bandaogo
*******************
4. Luis
5. ??
6. ??
7. Ware

Depth, balance, and talent as the "superstar" roams the sidelines.

My question is, who starts at the 1 vs 2 if we land Dingle? I am assuming that Dingle and Alleyne both start. Assuming Dingle projects as an NBA Pg, but he doesn’t have the assist numbers. This is a good problem as we would have a stable of really good guards. I’ll leave it up to Pitino, but definitely interesting.

I think Dingle still starts at the 2, but takes on a Donovan Mitchell role. Jenkins is the point guard. Alleyne finds himself as coming off the bench again, but still plays 20 minutes per game.
