Rick’s Targets

I think this is the type of recruitment where having Pitino can actually really help. I'm not saying Dingle = Donovan Mitchell, but what more convincing argument can Pitino make about player development than using that as an example? Both undersized guards

Jenkins not a true point, split with Clayton
Wouldn’t be a problem
Dingle on the other hand has never averaged more assists than TO in a single season. So not sure it’s what’s best suited for him.

You’ve been really adamant in saying this about Jenkins. His assist numbers were much more impressive than Clayton.

Assists are as much about the guy trying to complete the play as it is the guy facilitating.
It’s part of it. But 3 years is quite a bit of sample size. 40 more TO than assists for his career and never averaging more than 2.4 Ast for a season doesn’t scream lead guard to me.

For the record I would LOVE Dingle here.

Obviously we needed to make a change but there was a lot to like about CMA.

He told me that they chart the pass that leads to a pass that leads to a basket. I think that's a great stat to compile. A lot of times it's that guy who reads the floor correctly and sees the play developing before anyone else does.

Didn’t mean it as a negative for Jenkins. He wasn’t ball dominant. Both initiated the offense. Split maybe more towards Jenkins but he can share the backcourt was all I was saying.

Yikes, we're at the point in the off-season where we start revising the ex coaches' performances? Only a matter of time before we yet again rank all the ex-coaches since Lou from first to worst. CMA's tenure here, no matter how you spin it, needs to be added to the worst tenures in the history of our program. Maybe the worst when you consider what Norm inherited and the constraints placed on him.

At this point, I'm getting excited only at the prospect of Mgbako. Others on the horizon, like Taylor and Thomasson, might help give us an improved team, but who knows. Until we see them on the court, I have little expectations going into the season except for trusting the process with CRP.

It’s an odd stat but his scoring load was massive at Penn. 17 FGs a game is crazy.
