Redmen.com Gathering-November 8th-Wisconsin game??

Just spoke with the Thirsty Fan, they do not carry the Big 10 Network. I still have not seen or heard any confirmation that Stout is having any type of official event there but assuming they have the Big 10 Network, they may be the next best option.

Can anyone on here say definitively if there's an event at Stout already planned by alumni relations or red/white ?

Not for nothing but they should've made this game an hour later. It's a 6pm tipoff central time, 7pm here. An hour later would've made more sense for Wisconsin and St. John's fans.

Since when do the TV suits give a rats ass about the fans?

They want ratings don't they? It's not like this arena in the middle of South Dakota has another event that night.
Just seems to me that the BIg10 Network would want to show it after their viewers are home from work. A 6pm start? Not exactly. If it was 7:30 local/8:30 NY time there would be a lot more eyeballs available.
Starting time may have to do with the fact that BIG 10 Network has a DH scheduled for that night with our game at 7 and Florida Gulf Coast at Nebraska scheduled for 9 pm. Let's just hope they don't switch out of the end of our game if it runs past 9 to show that BB powerhouse Nebraska! LOL

According to collegesportsbars.us tonic time square, traffic is an Indiana bar (I have my birthday party at traffic midtown east every year and they are great). That's two options. Traffic would reserve a spot up stairs for us if someone called. Mjmaher was there this year for my bday. Just a bit out of the way for any lirr/njt peope

Also out of the way, but I know Mad River on 3rd ave (up by us Gman) is a Wisconsin bar and carries Big10 Network. I'm sure they will be showing the game.
Problem is its very out of the way for most people, 82nd and 3rd ave. Would also mean fraternizing with the enemy to some degree.

A little out of the way unless people are driving but Gman is right that traffic place on the East side is a very good place

I just spoke with someone over at SJU Athletics and I mentioned to him about our interest in having some type of "viewing party" for the game. As of right now there is no official event scheduled either at Stout or anywhere else. However, based on our conversation, he is going to talk with a few people about trying to organize something either in the city somewhere or maybe even on campus. Speaking just for myself, I'd like to wait and give the University a chance to put something together before we commit to anything. If they can't organize something we can still pick a place but I'd rather not go to a place that will be full of Wisconsin fans.

Sounds good. We wouldn't need much time to plan anything if the school. We could easily walk into a place like tonic. I am open to other bars. I just looked up big 10 school bars assuming they would have it. Does brother Jimmy's have TVs at the midtown location? They are more acc geared but might carry the game.

Did they say when they'll get back at you? If they can't plan something, I'm good with Traffic or Tonic.

He said he would probably know within a day or two, I'm guessing with the weekend being upon us that I will probably hear something by Monday at the latest.

Not yet, although I did send a follow up email about 20 minutes ago. Hopefully I'll hear back by today or tomorrow.

Update - I heard back from SJU & they are not having an official viewing party. Stout was suggested (alums get 10% off their bill) but when I spoke to Stout they could not guarantee that they will show the game until Friday. I'm not kidding, I'm sure they will show it but as of today, it's a "possibility".

That being said, Legends (see link below) is willing to show the game for us & give us our own section (right now they have an area for up to 10 people but they can add or subtract based on who really plans on coming). They were super friendly and very accommodating. I am fine going to either one (they are not too far apart) but my preference is Legends. They are an official LSU bar but happily support all NYC teams. If anyone is up for this lets get an official rolecall going. If more people prefer Stout I will go with the majority and cancel with Legends.

I'm most likely in!! Thanks for doing the research! Would they be able to put on audio as well??

I will double check about the audio but I think they said that wouldn't be an option. Looking forward to hanging again Jerpac, should be fun.

Forgot to mention but if you are coming and bringing someone let me know so I can make sure we have enough seats. Right now we have about 7 people (and a few "maybes"). Lets get it started.

My mistake, I meant to say it wouldn't be a problem
