Ray Salnave List of Three

Haven't seen Salnave play and I'm sure he is a better offensive player than Nick. But Nick was a great defensive player and energizer bunny and I can recall a couple of games where his energy brought us back from the dead.
He was a great last minute pickup by our coach and I'll trust him whatever he decides to do regarding Salnave.

Haven't seen it mentioned here, but with talk of roster shuffling that needs to take place to get Salnave in the door, what are the chances of a redshirt year for Wusu?

Redshirt still counts in roster limit
I think people got on Trimble sometimes because he was this chunky sharp shooter who actually wasn't a great shooter and that's sort of inherently funny but I agree with Monte that he played really solid defense against some guys he had no business guarding. I'll add that he almost never turned the ball over. I remember seeing some weird stat showing he was among the national leaders in fewest amount of turnovers to minutes played. He made quick decisions with the basketball (although he rarely dribbled the basketball) He was just a little too one-dimensional of an offensive player and when his shot wasn't falling he wasn't much help on that end.
Ever read the book "lying with statistics"?
Of course he had few turnovers! He got rid of the ball like it had the Corona virus! He couldn't dribble or guard small guards who routinely drove right by him. Salnave is much more like Dunn and more physical but more versatile than Trimble. A 5th year 3 star 2 guard is equivalent to getting a 4 star freshman guard imo. I give the extra star for maturity.;)

Trimble's upside was his ability to defend bigger players but as a slow footed guard unable to provide any pressure on the ball he is the complete opposite of the type of player Anderson is looking for.

St Johns is out on Monmouth grad transfer Ray Salnave, I'm told. A scholarship it thought would open up may not after all. #sjubb

Billy - the other day you said Salnave was a done deal. If you know, what happened, specifically?

"LJ is still a probable return, Ray is a done deal to St Johns and after the coaches had a talk today i believe you will see a Transfer from St Johns in the next week, roster is about to be loaded"

Better balance of scholarships, less roster turnover and not having to force a kid out is a win in my books

This all hinges on LJ. If he’s coming back, it’s all gravy and we don’t need Salnave. Just don’t want to be caught a scholarship down.

FYI
Two days until we know the college destination for Monmouth graduate transfer Ray Salnave. He told @Stockrisers he will choose between DePaul and LMU.

My first thought as well, however, I'm sure Coach Mike will put the pressure on him come game time. Best case scenario,. LJ strips the ball from him and goes downcourt for the jam:) .
