Rasheem Dunn Waiver Denied (APPEAL WON)
What was the "new evidence" that we submitted, that the NCAA hack who made the original decision is a fing moron? Would still like to see that bum take about 10 Noah Syndergaard fastballs to the nut sack followed by about 10 more from Luis Severino, topped off by 10 more from Aroldis Chapman. If the hack happens to be a woman 10 kicks to the nether region, 10 stomach punches followed by 10 left hooks to the head by Amanda Nunes.
Take a deep breath big fella, oh, and stop sending me friend requests while you're at it.

Forget that must be hungry but Dickie D was at my cousins restaurant Few days ago they are friends and was really looking forward to meeting him and ask some question but something came up and I missed him Bummer
Regarding Dunn mo he will be starting and he really helps the team 3rd player to give us potential double figure scoring, needed him for BE play ,like the way we have been playing his presence only makes us better

Great news to come home to! Finally. If we can notch this Vermont win, a lot more eyes will be opened. The CSU AD definitely had no idea we had such a presence on social media and online. I'm sure he was caught off guard. If I'm being honest, seeing Dunn's stats I won't expect that much, but I think playing on a much more talented team will set him up to have potentially his best year so far. Let's hope!

Guess I didn't realize I sent more than once as his is the only name that came on on the bottom of the screen since everyone else has accepted. Funny I don't use it for anything don't even know the purpose. Should have realized anyone with a monkey in his avatar would be antisocial. Only person than would be in more trouble if they were locked in a room with me than the rat fink who made the initial Dunn decision would be that POS Stephen Colbert.

Ted Gustus, Rasheem Dunn's uncle who was closely involved in the process: "What they saw was honesty and integrity of what we were doing. Here's a kid that sat out a year. Are we going to damage this kid for something he didn't have any control over?" #sjubb
Having an uncle like Ted Gustus as a mentor is why I never doubted Rasheem would be cleared.
Ted coached at my HS alma mater Nazareth in the late 80's and 90's and is good friends with Lou Carnesecca.
He's a Brooklyn high school coaching legend who also coached at Bishop Loughlin . Of course Loughlin has a connection to St. John's as it produced the great Mark Jackson and current frosh Julian Champagnie. The Maven also has a connection to Loughlin.
Ted also played with World B. Free at Canarsie high. To show you what a small world it is, World played with the late Greg Jackson who headed the Brownsville Boys Club where he and Ted frequently watched two budding basketball players named Shamorie Ponds and Rasheem Dunn. What makes the world smaller is Mrs. 72 has been an educational consultant to Greg Jackson Jr. who is a school principal in Brownsville.
Rasheem is a fine young man who was under-recruited in the shadow of Shamorie as Slick was the more naturally gifted player. He's a tough Brooklyn player who did the bulk of the ball handling at Jefferson but please don't expect another Ponds. That said, I think he is a better and quicker player than Nick Rutherford.

‘72, wasn’t Reggie Jessie a Loughlin player as well?

I don't see anything wrong with Dunn's stats. He made the NEC All-Rookie team his freshman season and the NEC All-Conference 2nd team as a sophomore. He also has a year under his belt where he didn't play which may have helped him improve on his game. Remember, he won't be the first or second option scorer on this team. He'll be anywhere between the third or fourth option, and he may excel in that particular role.

If he averages about 9 or 10 ppg, and can competently run the team when he's in the game and play solid defense (which he is known to do), then he'll be fine IMO. He's quick as a heck, too.

Yes, his quickness impressed me at the Team's scrimmage at Midnight Madness. I think he'll provide depth as well as a spark and be a solid piece in CMA's fast-paced schemes.

One Brooklyn guy is glad for another Brooklyn guy who got great news today and the second Brooklyn guy on the team!

Post article showed what a class guy Glenn Briaca is. He was positive about a player he recruited who left his team and thinks he will shine in CMA's system as it plays to his strength.

However I do not understand the notion of simply wanting one because you were a mid-year transfer and having played little the first part of the season before you transferred. That reason is weak. That is why I don't understand the constant harping on player A getting a waiver even though he played last year and player B not even though he transferred mid year and hardly played. The waiver is not being based on how much or little they played last year since you have to sit either way.
Why don't you get the harping? Years ago NCAA clamped down and said they would handle cases where youre going home for sick family. Hardships. Now kids are transferring anywhere they choose after playing a full year with no hardships or coaching changes (not that it matters clearly with Dunn) and then another kid in our case played 5 minutes and 1 game and he's told no. When you grant a full year kid immediate eligibility out of thin air like that then yes a kid playing just 5 minutes in 1 game and not getting it becomes a very relevant topic.

The whole system is broken and combined with piss poor officiating is making it harder and harder to watch.
Because it totally misses the point.

I am not arguing the harping over the inconsistency of the waiver requests but rather the grounds by which they think they are being granted or denied.

The playing time the prior year is not a basis for a waiver, never has been. So you canot compare getting a waiver for Quentin Grimes who played consistently for Kansas last year but not for Micah Potter based on playing time. You want to argue there are other factors for Potter that he should be allowed to play fine, but the idea that he should get one because he barely played and thus should not have to sit a FULL year but Grimes should because Grimes played a lot is nonsense. That is not the basis for his waiver request.
I'm don't see how you can't think that is exactly the point. No PT has never been the basis of a transfer. Ironic though since medical hardships are based on PT and how much you play but I digress. We don't know why official reason anyone including Steere mentioned in their transfer request. (Also interesting nothing has ever leaked or been posted after the fact about the 'process') but the point I am making is the fact he only played 5 minutes in 1 game should assist in his case. I know you have often posted about Steere getting the year back and how that might be an even bigger issue but that's not what I'm getting at. I'm not a lawyer (thank god) and again I don't know the official reasons all these kids put down for leaving but seeing literally the vast majority get approved without any hardship mentioned (and lets be fair its 2020 now. Everything comes to the surface) it's disgusting to me that 5 minutes in 1 game and he has to sit a 'semester'. Be original and say maybe he has to serve 2 games. But again this is the NCAA.
I won't be able to win with you.

Medical hardships are not a reason for transfer waiver though, they are the basis for getting the year back for eligibility.

I think the best argument is inconsistency. The article make sit sound like the inconsistency is based on awarding some waivers where the kid played last year a lot and others like Potter a no. I just think they are missing the point based on a bad faith argument. They do a disservice to the inconsistency argument because of that. That is my point.
Now I know what you meant Fordham.

Me and Moose were having a discussion and to shut me up he types: "You remind me of someone who used to type here." and that got someone else to call me a name, and I never said one thing to that guy.

I'm just going to post on game days about the game, and if someone want to argue, I'll just ignore them. They got thousands of posts so they're here for years, I'm new here. Even if they start it and i say something back, I'll be warned, not them.

You are over estimating my power there Thomas

Really glad this got done.

Still a big screw you to Cleveland State. I have never want to see them on the schedule and half want to play them every year and pound them by 30.

I think someone is still upset at the Bama loss to LSU on Saturday.
