Providence

St. John's has 1 assist in 20 minutes. Providence up 9-4 on offensive glass, 12-2 on second chance points. #SJUBB

The second half will determine if this season is done or not IMO. We are about to see the most important 20 mins of the season. Here we go.

well, on the potentially upside....
we had to play without a point guard...one put himself on the bench with fouls; the other sat there most of the half. So we at least get on back on the floor.
the key shooting guard had a shadow wherever he went; rarely go to shoot; and presumably will figure out how to
free himself. He did play kind of passively even given the close guarding, while he waited for the ball to complete its rotation among the statues in red.
If we can penetrate and if Sampson and the other bigs can be chained to the paint we may het have a chance to
win a close one over the team we were expected to bury at home.

not bad we're only down 7 after that first half with jordan coming back for the 2nd. i think we will still pull this out. kareem batts is awful. the only reason he's a star on his team is because of the rest of the team. i wish the providence coach would just shave his skull. it's painful to look at his head

What a laughable performance The game plan is not there Harrison just loafing around He should be on the move every min running his defender into picks I am for bringing in Marco and m,ax for some big mins

We were 4 point favorites. Clearly the oddsmaker didn't expect us to bury them.

For the 100th time: the college game revolves around a strong point guard.
We have two but we play with six guys taking turns.
When one of the two point guards has fouls, the other must play.
none of the two are forwards

You are half right. A good PG really matters. We have none. RJ is a scorer with a scorer's mentality. Attack the basket. Branch has a very average handle and plays out of control. Jordan just reminds me of Hatten, which is fine with me. Branch reminds me that we need a good PG next year.

This may be my last gasp at hope but I think we will pull this out also.
We can't have any more dumb fouls by pointer which convert essentially into four plus point possessions like
against DePaul and another version tonight.
But if we do break this ice or spell we are enduring, the sense of coming back with aggressiveness and effectiveness from good penetration by Jordan/Branch, decent shooting from Harrison, and some dynamic effectiveness from Sampson. If it happens, it's real momentum for the next few weeks.
If it doesn't , it's effectively the end of the year until the Big East tourny.

you are almost right tom it is almost getting there but we both know we never give up on our team we just take more pain :holdbreath:

Announcer said it best when he said this will turn in to "the harrison show". We will live or die with his 2nd half
