Providence (MSG), Wed., Jan. 10, 6:30p, FS-1

So the betting line is set on the over/under for this thread. Taking into account attendance talk has slowed and safety in the city may have stopped before it took over the thread and my take on the game to be a relatively comfortable margin with not a lot to complain about, the opening line is 52. I reserve the right to reset the line if a topic comes up pre game to really push the pages up more than I think.

I personally would bet the over even though I am an under guy if I bet that in sports.
I'm going with the over

I'm expecting a late post game surge of complaining about crowd attendance from those who go

Also it's a Wednesday and lot of people been sick so I think posters will be going home from game early instead of going out after the game so will have more time to post

That's an excellent record that probably is unrivaled by anybody. "If you’re not part of the solution...you’re part of the problem."
I've only missed one home game on the season ticket since Lavin became the coach (not counting the COVID year, obviously). Don't get to many, if any, away games, though.

Wow! You guys are making me feel ashamed of my 5 to 10 live games a year average. You two are certainly part of the "solution". Several years back there was a Marquette game at the Garden canceled for 2 1/2 feet of snow. It was played the next day at Alumni with about 50 fans and I went. Is that the one you missed?

Not to toot my own horn but I don't think I've missed any home games in the last since whenever ( since I was a student in the early 70s)...except for COVID year, my brother's 40th birthday and two open heart surgeries. It's easy living in Forest Hills and when I was working in Midtown. People who know me here can attest to my craziness.

Now I have to go pat myself on the back and collect my $2.75 for the ride on the subway...:)
It's a little harder to tell at MSG, but at cozy CA there are a lot of faces that you see constantly, year after year. There really is a hardcore bunch of what I will call attendees, so as not to take a swipe at other fans.

I know it’s not really Pitinos MO but one thing I always enjoyed that Ed Cooley did at PC is when the team was gaining momentum he would prompt the ground to get up and start cheering and the crowd would go nuts. My buddy I brought to a recent St. John’s game was like why is no one cheering during intros or when they score. We tend to sit on our hands a lot as a fanbase. Crowd size doesn’t matter as much if they are loud, which we almost never are.

Kudos to you. I feel like even if I had season tickets during that first mullin season I would’ve still tapped out and passed on some of those games LOL
I was tempted to during, not Mullin's first year (I knew that would be bad, and was prepared), but during that 11 game losing streak to start the Big East in, I think, year 3. Actually put my ticket for a couple of games on Stubhub, but quickly pulled it back.

I find it easier at the games. You have maintain self-control in public. At home, by myself, too easy to start banging on stuff, and curse, etc.

For those on Twitter, tonight at 9pm we're going to be previewing the game with a Providence member as well for their perspective. If you want to talk some Johnnies hoops please feel free to come on the show - everyone welcome, taking all calls etc.
Where on Twitter

It might be 50 pages if we all post our subway stories 😂I passed out once in college after drinking too much at an MSG event and woke up shivering in subway train yard with 3 other passed out college kids.

I guess the engineer thought “I don’t paid enough to deal with this” and just went home. And now I post about Jenkins lacking awareness.
This is starting to make sense😎👍🏻🤣
