Providence (MSG), Sat., Feb. 11, 12 Noon, FOX

During warmups he went into the tunnel and came out with the popcorn. He then sat in the stands right in front of us in stands. Donny Marshall came over and put his arm around him and obviously was talking to him about the situation. Marshall left and Curbelo got up and went over with the team but kept eating his popcorn. Then went to bench to eat. It is time to move on from this talented but troubled player. Addition by subtraction. He has embarrassed this school and coach enough. Should not suit up again.

This is insane. Can't ever recall a member of an announcing team having to go talk some semblance of sense into a kid.

I kept my ticket for the 1000 game with the intention of selling it after K retired. But on the NCAA trip to charlotte Lavins last year we go down and end up staying at the hotel Duke is staying out. K. The entire staff wearing Duke stuff. The guy checking us in was super nice life long duke fan. I asked him if there were any chik filet's near and told him we had never been to one and wanted to try it. He gives us over $50 probably close to $100 in free coupons for free literally we never spent a penny at the chic filet. When we checked out I told him on gonna send him Coach K's 1000 win at MSG it's in mint condition and it's free. He didnt believe me. When he got it he called me legit crying that I actually sent it to him. He definitely deserved that ticket more than me
That is an incredible story. Well done Mike…never met you but based on reading your posts for 10+ years, I’m not surprised

do you understand that StJohn’s must guarantee a certain number of paid attendance?

Years agoI heard that StJohn’s must guarantee a paid attendance of 7,000. I recently heard that the 7,000 is outdated and now substantially more.

So, in addition to scheduling conflicts with the Knicks and the Rangers the number of games StJohn’s plays at MSG is a business decision as much as anathletic scheduling issue.
Not advocating for UBS over MSG but I know they would love to get SJ over there for a much better deal. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the same cache

And then he was magically good or Anderson coached him up real good? Lol
It is really hard to play well with sporadic mins and shots which makes what Storr did early on incredible!
Wheeler had obvious skills which would clearly come through in practice if you had a competent coach observing said practice which we do not.
Was the same with Hardy and Brownlee with Norm
He was such a good practice player he rode the pine for three years at Purdue. Come on!

The truth is somewhere in between. It was obvious to me that Wheeler had lots of talent, deserved more time (check out my posts from first part of last season); he did not fit in with Purdue style of playing.

What about baseball players? They are constantly eating in the dugout, mainly seeds.
AND.....they spit like Crack Where's!
Curbelo will have a future with the Harlem Globetrotters. He's a born entertainer and loves interacting with the fans.

College basketball? Have you ever seen it in any sport?
Don Mattingly went for a fall ball in the stands one game, didn’t get it but grabbed a handful of popcorn from a kids box of popcorn.

Mark Sanchez while with the jets was caught on camera eating a hot dog on the sidelines during a game.
