Providence Game

I always pick us to lose (well almost always), because I always think we will lose. I think we win this one going away.

A victory, by 20 points or by 1 point ( I don’t care) and dinner at Capriccio’s instead of Al Forno’s, now that would be great. Providence is a town you can have a nice time in.

Cellar, dark, classic Italian, old world, classy restaurant, had a great meal there and would love to go back. Not going to happen tomorrow sadly.

If anyone goes to the game, you can’t go wrong with Capriccio’s in downtown Providence. Went there when my daughter was looking at Providence, instead she picked Holy Cross.

Worcester, MA, even though they have a rich (old) college BB tradition, Cousy, Tommy Heinshon, etc., has not many good restaurants!

Smallest school, I believe, ever to win the NCAA tourny, Dave Anderson Sports of the Times, a great NYT columnist was there when Cousy was there.

The Beast is finally waking up. Let's get the job done tomorrow, or there is not tomorrow after that. Win tomorrow and become a wrecking crew. Lose tomorrow and it become a season that could have been. Beasts are most dangerous with their backs to the wall.

A punishing win followed by a Gyro at Fontana's Famous Pizza and Gyro on Northern Boulevard. I haven't been there in 25 years, yet the gyro is still repeating on me.

Still 0-7 betting for us. It's not an aberration. I wanted to hammer us against Marquette but on Saturday morning my site was declining my card. I'm taking us with the money line tomorrow but may I ask why everyone is so confident? Has Providemce taken a hit?

can I be your bookie ?

Because of my dreadful track record I prefer the cash-up-front online method. After Dougie drops 39 on us depriving me of a big payday the last thing I want is maher chasing after me

Why would you bet on us??? Please dont :)

Just last week Marquette beat Providence by double digits, and we annihilated Marquette.

Also, the revenge factor and fact that our guys are probably still hurting from the 2OT loss this year, and the 3pt loss last year at the dunk, I think our guys come out and win handily. We had them beat last time, and I think we have improved a lot since the loss.

Plus, with Providences great start, they might not be as hungry for a win as us, we desperately need this game, they don't.

They most certainly do desperately need this game. They haven't made the tourney in quite some time and losing to a lower half of the conference team like us at home would seriously hurt their chances. Their fans and team will be amped for this one.

I would have to say you didn't look to hard then, you need to look further than a 3 mile radius. Lol

Don't even watch the game. Assume we lose by 3 because I'm greedy and will forfeit the points. I'm thinking a scenario along the lines of:

Providence down 2 with 8 seconds left ball on their baseline. Lavin already used his last two timeouts all in one-go while setting up a play with 43 seconds left. Invariably we don't get a shot off and the shot clock expires. The refs get in on the act because with .4 seconds left they call a foul on Sampson which clearly is bogus. PC knocks down 2 free throws and runs away with it in overtime.

In all seriousness these next 2 games are must-win cliche as it is. 15-9 with a marquee win finally on the board. More importantly if we want to inch our way into the NCAA discussion we need to overtake PC in the conference standings. We are 3 games back. A loss to them means no matter what shakes out down the stretch they will always be chosen over us.

2 wins this week likely puts us in 5th or 6th in the conference making the all-important top 3 finish somewhat attainable. Let's get this win!!!!!!!
