Providence, Fri., Dec. 20, 8p, FOX

The providence matchup will be completely different as they have the athletes depaul doesn’t. We need to play with the same intensity and limit turnovers. PC game will be a close one and a tough place to play. We are going to need to win more than half these road games to get where we want to be. This will be a big one to get against at PC team that hasn’t yet found it’s stride.

I've never understood the "athletes" thing attributed to basketball. To soccer I totally get it. Jokic? Doncic? Our very very own #20?
We should walk all over Providence. Pitino defended DePaul perfectly.

This is a good early test on the road in the league. Should be a decent barometer of where the team is at the moment. A solid win would say that a top-3 finish in the league is realistic. Lose and there is a lot more doubt about that. I think the reason Pitino & Co have been coaching the team so hard (and generating unhappiness with some players) is because they know the margin for error this season is slim to none. This is a game that may make the difference between slim and none.

Hey guys, wondering if anyone is heading up to Providence for game Friday night? If so, any thoughts on a place to meet before/after game for drinks? Would be fun to meet up with fellow Johnnie fans.....

Without googling my guess 1-9. That being said should have no bearing on Friday. This is a veteran team and if truly top 3 in Big East should be able to go into Providence (hostile envionment) and get a W.
3-7 but... we haven't won there when full capacity since early 2017. a Marcus LoVett masterclass.

A win Friday is long overdue. I remember the loss @PC last year being especially frustrating

I didn't watch the Providence/Bonnies game, but the guy who killed Providence was none other than Melvin Council, originally from Wagner. He went for 24 on 10-19 shooting. He was someone that half our board on the portal targets thread freaked out about even visiting, let alone the staff contemplating, offering.
Ah come on. Even our portal experts on the board are entitled to get one wrong every few years! 😂😂😂

I saw most of the second half of the Friar's game versus the Bonnies. Council seemed to get where he wanted to go throughout the second half. He was giving Providence fits.
