Last season many posters on this site made lofty preseason predictions of NCAA glory for CMA’s St. John’s team which unfortunately proved not to be correct..

The good news is that this is the start of this new college basketball season for St. John’s with Hall of Fame Coach Rick Pitino and a new roster of players.

* upon his passing, hopefully not for many- many years St. John’s fans will petition the Vatican for early sainthood for President Brian Shanley because of his role in revitalizing St. John’s mens basketball.

My prediction is season 22 & 10 big east 12&8, big east semi's and NCAA bid winning 1 game for the first time in 2 decades. That's my tempered prediction but not going to lie I'm expecting more......

Im leaning towards 8-3 out of conference. 13-7 in conference, 21-10 overall. 2 wins in the Big East Tournament. UConn wins the regular season Big East Title and the Big East Tournament Championship. Johnnies get an invite to the NCAA Tournament and they win 1 game. Bold Prediction, they beat UConn twice regular season.

Yes , a stern admonishment was called for by the Moderator staff .

Just a added note to assure a 2nd paragraph , when has anyone , going back to the Vulcans , predicted a losing season for our Redmen?

At least none , that have been published . If I recall reasonably accurately .

Who amongst us would dare to predict a Season of 14 -19 ?

And , for this team , none should be remotely entertained .

My own forecasts ? . I need to study charts , windage , veiled Pitino comments and other factors .
