According to OddShark, Seton Hall is a 3.5-point favorite tomorrow over St. John's. Expected it to be lower, like 1.5-2. #sjubb #shbb

Expecting a war & game decided in last minute. Hit those FTs Shamorie! :)

So factoring in the away aspect (3 points), Vegas thinks SHU is slightly better than us? I expect the line to come down.

Interesting given that St. John's has a #26 NET and Hall is #59. Seems like their tough (and IMO impressive) OOC hasn't been rewarded yet where it counts.

Factoring in no Keita and a possible lesser performance by one of our key players (Clark or Heron) and I give the Pirates an 8 point victory. If all of our 5 starters are in sync then a 3 or 4 point win or loss.

So you’re saying that SJU at our best, the most we are good for is a 3 point win at Seton Hall? That makes no sense. If that’s the case you shouldn’t expect a win from us the rest of the season, because we are undefeated and not really playing near our best most of the time.

I don’t think we are going to stop Powell from making outside shots. I think our best bet is really to prevent him from dribble penetrating and drawing fouls. Make him pass off, or shoot from the outside. We are actually a solid defensive rebounding team. We must continue that trend tomorrow. I think we also need to mix up defenses a bit and trap/slow their offense. Seton hall has long offensive droughts. Drain their shot clock so they have to rush their half-court sets which is where they are most comfortable. Willard is a guy who likes to tinker quite a bit. Gotta make his young players crack under a bit more pressure than they are used to, making them use the whole court.

I’m happy to be the underdog here. It makes a potential win there better for our overall resume’. Would be huge to grab a road win, to return to a raucous on-campus game with Marquette.

I don’t get the uneasiness here. We are much better this year. No kidding we haven’t won much at seton hall over the last bunch of years. They’ve been much better than us. We hadn’t won much anywhere. . This year is different. I’m glad we are finally an underdog also here.

Perhaps their recent wins over Kentucky at home and Maryland away have given them confidence and earned fan respect. I will be quite surprised if this is not a close game. This is not Rutgers.

Right. But hammered by a good Nebraska team. Whom we beat last year and they have pretty much same pieces as last year when we beat them. Bad loss to St. Louis. Decent team but I’ll take our win over Vcu over that. And a bad loss to a Louisville team not expected to do much all that much this year. So yea Kentucky and more in my opinion is the Maryland win on road. They have losses to teams they shouldn’t have lost to if they are better than us. As Powell goes so goes seton hall. We have more to rely on my opinion. Ponds and Powell a wash possibly. Then I’ll take what we have over them. Just my opinion but I’m confident in this team to take care of business this year. I understand they have the better ooc schedule but I think we fare better with their schedule than they did.

I hope they’re as overconfident as their fans and everybody else who chalks our record up to merely having a weak schedule. Hope our players enjoy the underdog role and take it personally. We get no respect. Time to earn it!

Seton Hall 82 - 74, they beat us on the offensive boards and get second and third attempts on offense and in the end we just can’t overcome it. The only way we win is if we shoot the way we did against Rutgers, a tall order.

It is all about how SH is playing now, quite well imo. Guess the bookies agree this is a tight one. Of course SJU can win, but we’re not favored for a reason, home court & a well coached team playing very well lately. Approaching this one with respect for SH has nothing to do with being uneasy, just assuming it will be challenging like all BE games.

Louisville (39) is ranked higher than we are (51) on kenpom how is that a bad loss. The fact they they werent expected to do much doesnt actually mean anything once the games start. They actually don't have a bad loss yet. 2 point loss to St. Louis is not terrible, they are a top 100 team and could end up winning the A10. Give credit where its due they have played well and have two signature wins already while we have none. Should be a tough and entertaining game tomorrow, hopefully we can walk away with a W.

As they should be favored. They are home. Line should be higher actually. Bookies love St. John’s. They give sju more credit than the experts do

So let’s agree folks have reason to be concerned & perhaps “uneasy”. That has nothing to do with absence of faith SJU can win.

All Louisville has done is beat the bad teams they were supposed to beat. With a nice surprising win over Michigan state and a pretty good seton hall team. I’m just saying I think we beat these better teams not on our ooc schedule. Just my opinion. Nothing we can do about it since we didn’t play them. But yea I’ll take Vcu win over St. Louis.

Their season rebounding numbers are worse than ours fwiw.
