We have more talent 1-7. Tonight will be a good indication of how we handle size. For a big team they don't play big. They are only 247th in the country in rebounding (we are 167th) and 269th in offensive boards. They don't shoot the ball all that well either. A big key will be keeping them off the offensive glass.

agreed. Hard to ever call a W for a Big East road game but this is a quality indicator for Mullin ball: small ball, short bench, help-D. They are all tested here.

Would really love to get this game and send a message to the conference and college BB naysayers (and recruits).
Feeling like Heron needs to have a big game tonight in order for SJ to win.
We will be in good shape if Heron has an efficient game. If he goes 2-10 we might be in trouble.

I am so pumped for this game. Is it 830 yet??? Can feel the excitement to start the big east. From those questioning our ooc schedule and so we can legitimize our record to those who believe already we are legitimized. Let’s go!!!

No response(s) necessary, but can’t brlieve that it won’t be possible to watch the game live for those of us outside of the NY metropolitan area. There’s no way I will be able to tune-out until the replay is shown on “Fox Sports Go” (or whatever it’s called) until hours after the game.

Only thing more anti-social than watching a game is listening to a game, while simultaneously reading tweets and muttering to myself. It’s a good thing that my family loves me unconditionally.

Agree. Even Sacred Heart outrebounded us on the offensive boards during the first half. Important to stop second shots tonight. Good test to see how well our defense plays.

I expect Seton Hall will come out strong tonight given the emotion of the rivalry and SJU being 12-0 and all that. How SJU weathers the initial burst of energy will be a factor in the outcome. Need everyone to maintain composure, no silly fouls and no rushed shots if things are not going their way early. IF SJU survives early (no foul trouble, still in striking distance) the talent kicks in and we win a close one. Something like 78-73.

Big issue will be early foul trouble. We can't afford to let that happen. Clark, Heron and Simon especially have to play smart.

Big key is how Heron comes out, hope he gets some early baskets and gets in the flow of the game.

Definitely pumped for tonight's game. Win and the buzz going into Tuesday's game will be incredible

I remember the 82-83 team. The campus as well the area was all St. John's. It was a great atmosphere

Why does game 1 seem to have monumental implications?

Well, if we can handle Seton Hall on the road, our expectations for the season will be raised. In no time flat, posters here will proclaim 12-15 wins as a goal in conference.

Lose and we will look forward to marquette and Georgetown with trepidation. Off one game expectations will be lowered to 8 to 10 conference wins and the staff will be excoriated starting with the final buzzer.

Big game. Very big. Only one game, but..

I’m actually thinking about going to the game solo. Some tickets left on stub hub. Anyone here want to sell me a ticket? I hate going into, jersey but am looking forward to this one.

So pumped for this game I am tired of hearing the we haven’t played anybody yet crap. Bottom line we still won all 12 of those games like we were supposed to and took care of business. Tonight can be a big statement game on the road in a place we never play well and I think we will get the job done! It is a real chance to prove we are indeed for real. However if we do lose let’s please not over react and quit on the season either lots of basketball left to play and we have a talented team enjoy the ride!

Agree Baldi. I’m in South Florida this week with my son and he doesn’t get the YES Network. Will be listening and reading redmen.com, just as you will.

It's also being shown on Fox Sports South, though I'm not sure what parts of the South that refers too.

You guys try downloading the app FOX Sports Go?

You should be able to watch it there. With an HDMI adapter you can connect it to any TV (that has a HDMI connection).

Dude, do you have any family/friends in NY? I use my moms cable sign on to watch all the games since I've been in the Midwest.. I've seen every game...
