Since Seton Hall hasn’t been that impressive, their backcourt man is out and home court means less than ever because of the virus it certainly appears the oddsmakers think very little of SJU.
So there's only one thing to do, you make them respect you.

We have not played well, Seton Hall has owned us the past several years. Only thing we can do is play better and win. Oddsmakers Favor winners.
He has had enough time to prove unfortunately, think he is not in our top 5 ,more like 7-8 option
Spot on

St. John's opens as a whopping 9.5-point underdog at Seton Hall tomorrow. Shocked it's that high. #shbb #sjubb

Influx of SJ side $ will reduce that I assume.
Line 6.5 now. Still seems a bit high, but not by much. I would have thought about 5.

Shu.started as 10pnt fans, could see them shaving another point before game time.

We drive and run on him and if we can box out which I have not seen much of in the games we played and if our shooting is on

I don’t expect any wholesale line changes in this game.

Two stats I look up every year because it says everything: St. John's in Big East season openers since 2010-11 (10 seasons): 3-7 (wins: '11 @ WVU, '12 vs. Prov, '17 vs. Butler); St. John's aggregate first five league games during that span: 13-37

Time to stop digging holes obviously and get off to decent start in BE play
Hey Quinn, it's not like we do it intentionally! lol
They're going to have the best player on the court but this is a very winnable game for us. The only bummer is our press doesn't look great at a time where Hall seems especially susceptible to it. If we had Dunn and were locked in defensively I'd feel confident but right now this feels 50/50. Let's hope the Rider game lights a fire and our guys show up with something to prove.
Since when did Mamu become so great? Not a big sample of course, but Penny rebounds the same but scores more per game. I think Penny is the best player on the court. I'm more concerned about their guy that shoots 61% from 3. If we double Mamu, then he chews us up with his passing. Play him straight up. If we can't handle him, it's going to feel like a long season.

I have no idea what Manu shoots from the free throw line but , it’s immaterial . My suggestion is to use Toro , Robert’s and Moore to foul him every time he gets the ball down low. That’s 15 fouls we have to give . Use them . I do realize that he is capable of shooting from outside . Give him those shots but , deny him down low , from getting the ball . If he gets it foul . It’s not like Powell or McKnight are there anymore getting him the ball .

He's a big dude. And we're St. John's. Those two things generally haven't mixed well over a last few decades.

I think we have enough athletic bodies to put on him, though.

Pretty sure someone else said this a few pages back

With so many comments on Mamu, bear in mind both teams have defended poorly to date. The team that brings it on that end today should win. This is not vintage SH team & missing Aiken. Winnable game for SJU to me provided we play disciplined D.

With the way our guys reach and go for steals, a 15 foul cushion would be disastrous, might beat us at the FT line alone.

Mamu improved his jump shot and dribbling this offseason. He’s improved every year. Not a surprise that NBA teams flirted w him at the end of last year.

Will every game this year come down to our ability to stop dribble penetration? We’ve been a step slow this year vs the dribble and w our rotations. Too much standing and watching. Gotta be fixed

Let’s get Mamu in early foul trouble and win this game.
