If we were after on in the season with roles better defined and the team stable, I'd say there may be a silver lining.  As bad as Pitt is, this now has the potential of being a trap game.   Champ is the one guy you can pencil in for 15-25 points.

Have some concerns for other players who may have been in contact with him. Should find out soon.

If Champ is vaxed and tests negative with no symptoms can’t he be back by Butler?
My understanding is that it's an open question.  There is still a 10 day isolation period, but doctors could potentially determine that his 10 day period starter earlier based on his symptoms.  I don't really understand what that means but bottom line is it's TBD.  At the rate games are getting cancelled who knows if the game is even played at this point.

I came here to post exactly this. Considering how close these guys probably are, how close in contact the entire team is, it seems like, unfortunately, just a matter of time when.

I believe it's 10 days from whenever the positive test was taken.

And this whole thing is getting stupid.  I'm about to stop watching games, they need to just cancel everything if this is the way things are going to be.  Teams making the tournament is just basically going to be who was able to get keep their core players out of covid protocol the longest.  And some teams are just going to cancel games unless their key players are able to play.

This whole thing is not fair to players, coaches, or fans.  You got fans driving hours and making plans weeks ahead of time for games to get cancelled the day of or night before.  Most players that are testing positive are asymptomatic.  And the tests aren't even that accurate, you got NBA players testing positive and in less than 24 hours having two negative tests.  If somebody is fully vaccinated with booster and has no symptoms they should be allowed to retest and only held out if they test positive twice within a 24 hour period.

The new antigen tests are having few false positives now, more likely to have a false negative. PCR tests are still much more accurate although time lags are getting worse with Omicron. Sports teams may have quicker access. I feel like we have to get through this next wave and then make determinations on how we want to proceed as a society.
