Hoops guy I respect noted he hopes refs in tough, foreign environment give Posh a fair shake the way he aggressively guards. If not, it really puts pressure on our guards to step up and handle point in his absence.

Agree.  Posh has been pretty under control this year, more so than in the past but it’s only 2 games. Assume it would be Steph and then Pinzon.  Oddly I think Pinzon could be fine handling the ball.  Just needs big game experience and learning tempo.  I think we have quite a few options, although none like Posh.

Sorry guys, I’ll be there behind the visitor bench and if you’re visiting, please let me know so we can enjoy dinner. Miss you guys

Pressure D and get their guys in foul trouble will tell the story.

CMA hasn't used a lot of pressure D in the first two games, so I think he will use soft press and few traps.   I think the rotation tonight might exclude Pinzon and Nyiwe.

This will be the first true "Road" game for all our Freshman and Sophmores - and as Julian states in the Post article- first Road game in two years for the vets.

This will be a great test for these guys. Love to have veteran presence of Wheeler /Mathis / Smith/ Coburn going into a place like Bloomington this early in the season. We are much better situated to handle a game of this caliber than we have been the past couple years.

Should they choose to double/faceguard Julian- we have the pieces to make them pay.

Cautiously optimistic: SJU 82 Indiana 75

Just reading the indiana site.  Only a couple posts so far but one guy has indiana by 10 plus.

one link they had to learn about our team was from before season started from sb nation.  Interesting read about our team   here is that article.

I did find a topic earlier that discusses sju as well.  So they have spoken more about us.  An sju fan chimed in yesterday regarding things in that thread.

As successful as the other Big East have been so far, our guys better be ready to bring it tonight!!

I’m worried about Trayce.  Aside from him, and the attention he can command, I think we have the horses to win this.   I too worry about the refs and them having “kid gloves” for IU’s guys at home.  I see us falling in to some zones or zone traps at times to mix up looks and deny entry into post.  Confuse them and make them take bad shots.  We used them a little bit this season and I expect it to continue to help keep them on their toes.

I think Pinzon will get a shot but if he looks shaky, there will be a quick hook.  I dont think you can just not play him tonight.

True.  CMA might try to spot him with a quick hook.  He looks far less confident to me than Stanley has looked so far.  And with veterans in the back court we may not need him.

I would be very surprised to see Trayce get very many one on one opportunities. The game plan will be to swarm him every time he touches the ball, and make other people beat us.

we have firepower, and if their other guys don’t show up… it’ll be long game for them. Keeping Trayce off the offensive boards will also be the challenge tonight. Have to limit his opportunities. Make other people beat us.

This undoubtedly will be the game plan.

Pinzon looked better last game defensively and was descriptive at times with his long arms on defense.  He also has driving ability.  I think we will need everybody, including their fouls to be able to play at the pace we want, even Nywie.

Pinzon will play tonite. I hope he breaks out. Kid is unflappable. It won’t be because he is scared.

IU fan boards yield comparatively far less posts and interests in this game than St. John's fans do. And little concern for them winning.  Simply unjustified arrogance based on their recent history.

Unless there's serious foul trouble, or the game is a blow out one way or the other, I don't see CMA going deep in to the bench tonight. We'll need our very best players on the court the majority of the time to give us the best chance at winning. Tonight is not the game to get all the kids PT, and to experiment. We have other upcoming games for that. We need to make a statement tonight, win or lose.

Indiana Head Coach Mike Woodson previews tonight's game.

Recall this 1999 NCAA game when St. John's rolled Indiana.

Note watching parts of the 1999 game I was left wondering how and why things derailed during and after the Mike Jarvis era.  In this game Jarvis seemed to be in complete command of the program and the team.  Who would have thought that things would have gone so- so sour in the subsequent years after destroying Bobby Knight's Indiana team.
