i can't see us picking up full court.  we need to keep our guys out of foul trouble and need to let soriana and wheel set up defensively.

i actually wouldn't be surprised to see more zone.  keep the ball out of the low post. make them hit the jumper.

CMA hasn't used a lot of pressure D in the first two games, so I think he will use soft press and few traps.   I think the rotation tonight might exclude Pinzon and Nyiwe.

We will use pressure in spots. Look for the matchup zone to be a major factor tonite. 

Most don’t realize that our defense is tougher in the half court because the court is more confined. 

I hope they have spent all their time practicing for the press. 

That’s to our advantage.

That's a good thing. Shows lots of anticipation and excitement. 
 
When you read the STJ roster from the 1999 game you see a group players whose offensive awareness of one another developed at Riverside before they came to St. John's.  Jarvis was a defensive coach.

To an extent. Bootsy and Postell grew up a long way from NYC.
 
A win tonight would be huge and is certainly more than possible. To use Monte's words, I'm cautiously optimistic; don't expect it to be easy at all. Really looking forward to watching this one even if it goes on a little past my weekday bedtime lol.

Tonight is our first true test.  I hope CMA can get this team working on all cylinders.  Need to play some tough D and force Indy to be uncomfortable with our pressure.
 
I don’t know why I feel this way but has a little old school feel to it. Little late start, good matchup. I really expect our team to show out tonight. Now only if it was at MSG…

Depends. We had games last year that were bigger because the stakes (a potential tourney  bid) were higher. This isn't a must win, but it's a huge game against a legendary program which will go a long way towards letting the college basketball world know that we're back as a program.

This is his best team, better then Mullin's or lavin's teams because of the dept and height.
BEtter shooters then on those teams.

There's a possibility that this team could the best since the elite 8 team.

If that's true then we gotta get this game tonight.

I agree.  I feel like we could always justify a loss the last 2 years just because we didnt have the horses.  Kind of gave coach an out.  This is the 1st time there really are no excuses.  If we lose this, we most likely dont get a good win in OOC.  This is a huge game and quite frankly a must win.  Well, as much as a must win as game 3 can be.

Yes, tonight is the turning point for this program.  We have the players now.  No excuses.
