They've made the tourney two out of the past three years, playing the 13-4 game both times, and lost by 10 and 13 points.

Their current coach, Becker, has a record there of 166-77.

We will see.

This would be a good game for redmen.com fans without season tickets to buy game tickets for. Saturday afternoon 4 pm start doesn't mess up evening plans.

There have been a ton of season ticket cancellations. General murmurs are we should have waited a year to implement the mandatory donation, but there have even been a lot of cancellations in seats that did not require a donation and which only had a 5% increase over prior years.
Interesting...I assumed there would be cancellations and asked to improve seats at CA...the system showed nothing available after which I saw individual game tix on sale in the section I requested. Worse that that, they offered me a 1 row improvement at MSG where I am sure they had more room for improvement. Have had season tix since 1974 so was disappointed.

Vermont up only 2 (24-22) over Boston U and 2-10 from three. Through 2 1/2 games their 3 point shooting is really atrocious.

Don’t worry. They are coming to CA. Guaranteed to raise their percentage

I dont think rasheem starts right away, cma will probably give nick till the under 12minute to, and see what nick has, or rasheem could play with nick.
I'd go with a starting lineup of

When at full strenght a lineup of rasheem, heron, lj champagnie, and steer, will be real fun to watch. I'd go with the freshman over roberts.
ROBERTS with his energy could be the 6th man spark plug.
Imo Roberts is no 6th man at this point. He’s been an animal and almost seems as if he’s barely trying. He will potentially be a starting PF for us for next few years. Give him time. I was wrong about a lot of these guys based on our prior staff not actually coaching them. Things have changed..
+1000...and wait until this kid fills out. The only reason Roberts may become 6th man is fact that it might be tough to integrate him and Steere.

I don't really care who starts but dont act like one player is heads and shoulder above another when the other looks alittle better.
Maybe everyone wants a rim protecter, and that josh over julian, then ok fine, i agree.

My two "gold" tickets went up from $1,343 to $2,265 from last season to this season. However I have received no additional benefits. I did not receive an e-mail about the open practice or the tip off practice. My seats at CA which I like weren't moved down nor were my seats at MSG (which I asked about). In fact I was moved further from the end to the middle without asking if this was a preference. I have not been offered to buy additional seats at season ticket holder prices. I have not been notified about how to buy tickets to the Mohegan Sun tournament. I have not received the opportunity to buy seats for the Elite Eight at MSG which I was a couple of years ago. There is the usual season ticket gift which I don't even feel like taking because it is of no value. I never received an e-mail letting me know that it is available. It would be nice to receive a letter explaining what the future plans for upgrades are and how much money is needed. I might even decide to donate a little more. In the end I am enjoying the games but this is becoming an expensive hobby without any communication from the program.
Honestly I didn't even look at the breakdown in terms of tickets price and my Increase was the same. I don't think I got a room mohegan sun email but got the rest. Let them know, could be your spam filter is grabbing them.

Some AD folks are well aware that there are some Knicks plans that are cheaper. This is a very competitive market and sju is just one of many options

Steere and Roberts will integrate perfectly imo. Two athletic beasts. We are going to be a bit better in the frontcourt this than I ever expected entering this season. Steere is a manchild and the only center on our roster. There will be games when we play Steere, Roberts and Champagnie against bigger lineups at times. I wanna get the Big Steere eligible now, see what we can do.

Honestly seen this stuff happen when single game ticket locations are better than a season ticket holders.

You remind me of someone who used to post here
I hope that's a good thing.

No need to worry. I'm not sure who he's referring too but I'm betting it was just some other O'Toole.

Well we know Moose wasn't referring to O'Douls :)

Ahhh so now I'm a tool for saying that roberts and juluan are even and that josh isn't 100% starting over julian?
Yeah and now if i say something back ill be the one in trouble
I'll just keep quiet and go.
Will be back after the vermont.
I hope Julian out performs Josh by alot.

I don't seeing Dunn starting. Believe Nick starts. Dunn off the bench for Nick and also to add to offense when LJ and Mustapha are out. Probably a 3 man rotation with LJ and Mustapha and Dunn with 2 of the three on the floor at all times.
While J and J are similar, Brooklyn does a better job outside on defense and offense and Bama does a better job down low. Both are similar in transition.

Who is acting like one is head and shoulders above the other one ?

Pretty sure josh and Julian are the two players the majority of posters are impressed with so far.

You said Julian should start over Josh. I and a few others said we disagreed. Since when did having a different opinion illicit the outcry that you are campaigning. It’s a message board for Christ sake. If we all agreed it would be a pretty stale environment

And rooting for one player to out perform the other????
Why?
To prove a point?

Lamb definitely a nice player;

ESPN summary of win over BU last night;

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Anthony Lamb scored 15 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds and Vermont beat Boston University 62-47 on Wednesday night.

It was Lamb's second double-double in three games.

Vermont (3-0) led 30-27 at intermission and extended the margin to 40-31 on Robin Duncan's jump shot with 14:52 left. Both teams bogged down on their respective offensive end and each failed to score in a four-minute span. Stef Smith buried a 3-pointer and Aaron Deloney quickly followed with a layup and the Catamounts led by 14.

Maybe misleading but their margin of victory over SBU and Bucknell is 3 and 2 points. Couple of close wins but wins nonetheless. I think SJU needs to get a better start than they did against New Hampshire. We haven’t been in a really close game yet down the stretch and this might not be the game to start. Seems like being close and late they might be a little more comfortable.

Gotta love how the Vermont pre-game thread consists primarily of:

1. Complaints about season ticket prices
2. Elton John ticket resale prices.

I'm pretty sure we have/had a thread for the former. I guess we could start one for the latter.

Anyway, I think Vermont is going to be a good early barometer for our group. I haven't seen a line yet but it should probably be a pick 'em or a couple of points one way or the other. Hope our " fans" manage to buy a ticket (either at the box office, resale, or otherwise) to show up and support the team.
I'm thinking a line will be higher than that. I'm going to say a touchdown.
My guess is that Moose is correct, but sharps quickly move the line down to 5.

This is the type of game I won't be upset if we lose (they are a real good mid major), however I think we should win this game as a Big East team. We will need Heron and LJ to be on their game and hopefully Dunn can contribute. If we can do that and turn them over a decent amount, we can win this game maybe even by more than people think. But it will be tough no doubt. Let's give them hell on defense.
