(POST-GAME) Wagner, Sun. Dec. 16, 4:30p

Ponds 14 assists, last SJU player to register 14 was David Cain vs. Seton Hall on March 6, 1993.
Team record is 17 held by Omar Cook.

Simon has a weird free throw stroke. It looks like he is trying to shot put the ball!

He has a weird everything. He's not very coordinated...but he's a freak athletically.

I expect to be ranked in the top 25 somewhere tomorrow. 10-0 is the point where it becomes hard to ignore.

Happy with the W, at least 2nd half...

Still not sure what Keita will bring but has to be better than Trimble / Dixon minutes.

Trimble is a career 30% from 3 and little else.

Shamorie Ponds scored or assisted on 11 of St. John's 12 made field goals in second half. Owned the final 20 minutes. #sjubb

Not great competition today, but treasure this kid. Won’t see someone like him for some time imo.

Shamorie and Figueroa are the most complete players on this team. For whatever reason Mustapha Heron is forcing his inside game and not playing under control. If he doesn't rejoin the ranks of Ponds and Figueroa soon the team as a whole will suffer. Simon, for a 4th year player has been a disappointment. Supposedly being tutored by Richmond and Mullin I have seen ZERO improvement in his game. Marvin Clark is only effective shooting the three. I'm praying Sedee Keita returns healthy because the bench is small, plays small and basically stinks. The rebounding stinks. Today outrebounded by Wagner.
This starting 5 should be better than they have played to date. The staff has its work cut out for them to get 5 players on track before Seton Hall.

Here we go again with the if we play like this or if we play like that against so and so team...believe me guys, once big east play starts this team will play focused most of the game if not all of the game unlike these games against lesser competition. We are gonna win the big east and then finally I hope some of you negative ppl will give the credit they deserve. Team is still gelling and will continue to get better. Ponds is doing his best to get the others involved. But when push comes to shove and we need to step it up you know ponds will look to score more.

And like a poster said before. Why harp on the fact that seton hall beat this team by 40 but not mention the fact they only beat Rutgers by 6 also at home when we beat them by 20 at Rutgers. Keep posting what suits your complaints.

Let’s go St. John’s!!

Unfortunately Heron and Clark are having to do things down low they just aren't good at. I feel for them

To answer the question re Keita: Hopefully he will make it so we can have more healthy rebound margins. Hopefully he allows Clark and Heron to revert to more natural play for them. I think they’re both suffering for the lack of true inside presence. Hopefully he extends the bench when we need it.

Think it’s silly (no disrespect intended) to think he won’t make a difference once he’s game ready.

We want to believe! We want to believe!
But the last time you said that we went 0-11.
We are St, John's! :p

Class 72 you must have me confused with another Eric. After Lovett got up and left so too went my aspirations for the tourney last year. I choose to enjoy this before and while it’s happening as opposed to after it happens.
Kept saying the same thing about kid and play Maher. Spitting image lol
its still freaking me out like twins from different generations. Some science experiment gone wrong :)
