Ponds played 39 minutes, Simon 38, Figgy 34, Clark 33 and Heron 24.
Keita played 5, Williams 0 and Trimble 27.
I’m ok with Williams not playing because Trimble played well but hard to understand with Keita. My big problem with this team is the turn it on and off tendency. Mistakes will be made, part of the game, but will we ever see a focused 40? We have a very experienced team yet seemingly you can expect unintelligent, uninspired play as soon as we get a lead. I know I am repeating myself but halfway through the season I wonder where is the real on the court leadership, the understanding of time and score, the recognition of the opportunity for a knockout. I agree we have more talent than Nova but I am not sure we have a better team.
I think we have a better team but nova is definitely better at understanding how to win a big east basketball game. When you have multiple leaders who won a national championship, they are just better at focusing in on what needs to be done for 40.
The Georgetown game was a step in the right direction when it comes to winning close games, but we are still a major work in progress
