(POST GAME) Providence, Wed. Feb. 12, 8:30p, CBS SN / 570 WMCA

Felt good to get back on the right side of things. Great defensive effort. Good contributions up and down the bench.

If Earlington can continue consistently hitting that open 3 point shot (without falling in love with it) it could really help open up our half court offense a bit. Also I really love Williams Jr's game. I don't think he'll ever be the go-to guy but I strongly sense that his best basketball is still in front of him.
The Duke's 3 balls really bailed us out last night. I felt like Providence was coming but the duke wouldnt have it.
Riase your hand if you had us pulling out big east games becasue earlington is a sniper from 3.

Just a added comment on CMA stripping down to his shirt sleeves and tie less , plus Cooleys comment about a Band Box of a Gym and the Heat turned up ... one of the Announcers , possibly Lappas, said it like 800 degrees inside CA last night ... maybe the AD can set the thermostat down 50 degrees before the games ? Fans and players might appreciate it . Lastly , no need to further comment on MH hurting the team , for those who believe that ... but , when Healthy , he was pretty much a lock to average between 17-20 points a game .. with him and Figgy scoring 35-40 a game , we wouldn’t be 3-9 in the BE .. His injury during the Pan Am games, playing for the USA , might have been the precursor to his further injuring it in the Brown game .. let’s try and think we didn’t get the Heron this season that his skills would have added to our W/L record . Thinking we are better off without him , doesn’t compute in my opinion .
Nah keep the heat up. We want it to feel like literal hell in there. As far as Heron... instead of posting stats, look at the eye test and how the team has played without him. It’s a no brainer in my opinion. Guys actually had fun last night and played with purpose. No ball stoppers out there, which is what Heron does. Better rhythm all around. Look he’s a great kid, but sometimes it’s just not a good fit. He didn’t have great ball skills which made it hard to put him at guard, plus he was a below avg defender. Threw our defense and help rotations off. A big reason why Roberts and Champ were able to rotate and get those weak side blocks.

Agreed. I don't see why any of the names you mentioned would go anywhere. They've all improved to some degree. They all make sense in Anderson's system. Several of them or their parents/advisors are very public as to their like for Anderson and the staff (Williams Sr., Dunn's Uncle). LJ is a different story because he would be leaving to pursue professional options and Carraher seems like he likes it hear as well.

Perhaps the mass exodus stuff has its roots in someone who happens to run another SJU fan-site and is upset that Nebraska is the joke of the Big-10 and college basketball these days.
With all the mass exit rumors, am tuning it out until season’s end. Of course there will be movement, as indicated by staff still recruiting 20 guys. You never know, but I feel confident the incumbent base will include Julian, Marcellus, Dunn, Roberts and Williams, which would be fine. One key to me is adding a shooter to complement Cole, who should have an impact & just has to gain strength. Obviously, another big need is adding ever elusive big man imo.
The best player on the court this year varied from game to game. If you scored the performances game by game, I believe you'd find LJ & MH pretty close with Dunn a distant 3rd.

As for the rest of the team I love their efforts and the hard work they put in.
CMA and staff will right the ship, but it will take time.

Ahhhhh.... You're referencing the fraud/wannabe, eh? That fool is parodying his site like a shock jock because it's straight trash. The site is reminiscent of 'The Morton Downey, Jr. Show.'

I think we're all in agreement that Earlington is the clear frontrunner for next season's Naismith award. :p
Great feeling popping providences bubble. Watching Williams jr, he has opp to drive the basket but instead he takes 2-3 dribbles around the arc and passes. He’s so quick that he could blow by these defenders and get to the basket. That’s the next step in his game. I hope he takes it here
agree...think his handle is dicey and prevents him from getting to basket on regular basis

Scuttlebutt is he's on the short list for a Nobel Prize.

The long winded Heron debate is just weird. When healthy, he is the top one or two most talented players on this roster. Period.

I just can't understand how some folks did not noticed his hobbled gait up and down the floor all season. Please re-watch a game and take note of how he was running.

Heron is also an observably great teammate. As someone else previously mentioned, he was the first man off the bench at timeouts congratulating and offering advice. One idea would be to support and speak positively of a local product (Connecticut) who has decided to contribute to our program in any way he can.

Psssst......it's good for our program if Heron tells other locals that St. John's was a good experience.
