Will be positive. As someone who has been snarky about Nyiwe - they don’t win without him.

That’s all I got.

Champ had a terrible game. The only guys who looked like they came to play were Soriano and Wusu.
This was a bad win. Next Friday is either going to be very good or awful.

Imagine if posh didn't play today? Right now this team cannot afford to look past anyone.

Lots of issues.  But maybe the biggest is that we have an NBA aspiring talent who is too passive and not assertive.   Second is our penchant to come out of  the gate with no urgency.

CMA has to go! His system is to intricate and kids don’t stay four years anymore to learn it. We need a younger more progressive coach to run this program.

Right now I’m leaning toward awful!!

Easy Greg, you're gonna really upset the segment of our fanbase that can't tolerate hearing anything negative said about Champ.

Positives:
1- Posh got a game under his belt before Kansas.  This is very important and we could not afford to have him rusty for that game.
2- We had a chance to overcome adversity and work on some end of game stuff.  Obviously we should have killed this team, but did did get an opportunity to work on closing out a game in a tight situation.
3- Nyiwe established himself as a presence on the defensive end of the court.  He provided a ton of effort and energy and I believe the team picked up on this and it was contagious.

Negatives:
1- The "end of game wait till 7 seconds to go" nonsense play.  Scrap it coach.  Start moving the ball around and getting to the hoop earlier then 7 seconds.
2- Champy is not who he is perceived to be.  Yes, hes great at using his size to shoot over people but he cannot break ANYBODY down off the dribble.  He is not a guy you can just give the ball to and get out of the way.  The NBA talk with him should stop immediately.
3- Stanley, Coburn, Wheeler.  These guys were supposed to bring big juice off the bench.  They have provided nothing the last few games.  Very discouraging.

Maybe we need an older coach. Can you say Pitino?

Not much you can say about today’s Game . It appears based on games played to date that Wheeler is not a good fit for CMA system .

Anderson's extension was thru '26-'27 season

I am concerned about his ability to get his system in rhythm with players turning over so quickly these days.

The only positive suprise I took was Nyiwe's lateral movement / quick enough vertical hops on the defensive end.
He should be part of the regular roation. We'll need him defensively.

Oh, and he's got learn how to dunk.

I know people probably don't want to hear this, but a win is a win, it's all about survive and advance.  One thing I'm encouraged by is this team handles adversity well.  I've seen lesser teams fold when the pressure mounts on them.  It doesn't matter how much they get down by they are always in the game.  Even though it was sloppy I seen some positive things, Nyiwe is going to be a contributor, Wusu looks to be back to his form from last season, and even if Champ struggles we have other guys like Mathis, Smith, Posh, and Soriano that can carry the scoring load.

Also, just been watching a lot of college basketball these past few days, and no team is safe right now early in the season with most teams having a bunch of new pieces and figuring it out.  #4 Kansas loses to a very bad Dayton team with 12 freshmen.  #10 Alabama losses to Iona, #16 St.Bonaventure just lost to a 1-3 Northern Iowa team, and Cincinnati who just beat #14 Illionis just dropped to Monmouth.

Moving forward Kansas, Monmouth, and Colgate should all be very good games against quality NCAA caliber teams.

Guys while very fair to criticize CMA for what we've seen so far (I agree he's got some things to fix), it's a tad early to be calling for the head of reigning Big East Coach of the Year (Jesus, Mary and Joseph as Sister Mary Panic used to say).
