Not to 1 up anyone but , I believe Coburn came to SJ for the PA program primarily and him playing BB was a late summer addition .                           As for the continuing debate between fans , I don’t think a healthy Williams would leave because he was worried about PT from Smith or even, Mathis . A healthy GWill is better than either , in my opinion .   And , again , why did the Staff think Earlington , Dunn, Williams , Robert’s , McGriff, Cole wouldn’t be as good as last season ?  Moore was a good Player , bad issues .  A loss as a player but , clearly wasn’t reading the same book as CMA .   Caraher , a great kid , along with GWill , left after the OOC schedule . I doubt he has further pro aspirations . And , he did graduate in December , I believe .  His leaving is still mysterious as I doubt he left because he wasn’t going to play much . But , I could be wrong . Prior comments last year suggested he was headed to SJ Law School ?                                                        I just can’t believe our Coaches planned this total makeover of last Year’s team and to suggest the guys who did come are better than those who left is suspect . Regardless of transfer portals .            And , while the details of the DeMeo departure are all speculation , due to the law suit , there were allegations of disarray at the end of last Season . Perhaps those allegations , while not known , contributed to the mass exodus ?  Or , maybe CMA and staff really think the kids brought in are going to finish higher than 4 th in the BE and receive a NCAA bid ?  We will see as the Season progresses .
I'm glad you do not believe that any players were encouraged to leave or shown the exit - that is not my take on CMA and staff.   Simply put, the staff knew that as a result of the new transfer rule, there was likely to be several defections so they were prepared to begin recruiting immediately as players hit the portal.   I've been told it was simply a matter of kids looking for a better situation for themselves, which the new rule provided for them without having to sit out or apply for a hardship waiver. I agree there is no evidence that any of last years Core Group were shown the door.  Exception being Moore .  But , with all the guys mentioned who had played for CMA for 2 Seasons , it’s puzzling to process 8-9 guys leaving .       Especially since many were going to be Seniors and had been here , even longer than Mike . GWill,Robert’s  , Earlington , Caraher in that category .              Dunn had a significant role in both his seasons with CMA .                  I guess it’s just hard to understand such a mass exodus .                                            And , I believe that Core Group would have been a fine team this year , along with Champ, Posh , Wusu .   Anyone doubt that?                   Any way , on to the Kansas  game .  Here’s a thought , Norm Robert’s left after 2008 or 2009 , which makes our Players about 8 or 9 years old or less when replaced by Lavin .                                               Speaking of Norm , he’s deserving a decent reception upon his return on Friday . Class should prevail .
