But when 2 scores 43 and the rest 12.

Are they really that good or is it one dominating player, and the rest role players.
With that dominating player are they still really good or just avg?

But we do know with him that they are really good

I know I'm going to get hammered now.
Even if it’s just Lamb, they nearly beat UVA. UVA is arguably the best defensive team in the country consistently. I think they held Syracuse to less points than Lamb scored alone...

Our loss wasn’t a bad loss and that seems obvious because this team almost beat UVA and they let him score over 30 points. How could we not stop him? UVA couldn't either....
I don't know if they let him score 30 points. His three pointers were not open ones and most well behind the 3 point line. Diakite played him tight and looked shocked after every made shot. Believe me he had to work for his shot against the Cavaliers swarming defense.
Lamb best us and I tip my hat but he had shot 9 for 25 prior to the last possession. He had scored via volume shooting, not by having a lights out dominating game. Could we have doubled? Yes, no question we could have. Did Anderson call for a double team and we just didn’t execute? I don’t know, but as an ex-coach I do not think doubling him was a no-brainer by any means. One of the things that doubling does is potentially provide a wide open shot and the idea that Vermont has one shooter is just not so. But maybe more negatively important is it makes you scramble with the three remaining defenders and you lose box out responsibilities. Many games are lost at the buzzer by follow ups and one of the reasons for that is doubling which opens up rebounding lanes; that consideration is a valid part of the last possession defense equation. It is easy to second guess but in reality it is just not that straightforward a decision.

When you're going up against a team with a great player like Lamb, who was hitting his shots, I'd gamble and double team him. Ifeveryone else on Vermont steps up and executes and they beat you, then you tip your cap to them.

The thing is, can they? We don't know because nobody went extreme with him yet.
