(POST-GAME) @Georgetown (CAP ONE), Sat. Jan. 5, 1p, CBS / 570AM

Impressed with the minutes Keita gave us, setting screens and defending Govan. One of the many good coaching moves today.

What a great job willing their way to tie the game in regulation. Some errors in OT like fouling Govan on a three with an 8-point lead (for Clark's 5th foul), letting Simon handle the ball instead of getting it in Shamorie's hands when GT was going to foul, and, of course, missing free throws, but they played tough D on the final possessions and willed their way to a huge win. GT is a lot better than I thought and a tough out so this was a great road win.

These undersized undermanned kids of ours just dont quit.

Couldn't be prouder of this team today

Nova we are coming for you !!

Someone pointed this out already but we lost the same exact game last year.

Minor point, thought Keita played intelligently, making right passes & doing little things. Sense his game will come along nicely

Before the foul on Govan with 57 seconds left, Govan air balled a three that was saved from going out of bounds. Am I crazy or did air ball land out of bounds before being saved? Awful pic but:

I really hope so Maher, we'll have to move up 13spots.
But yeah, we're 15-0 so we should be.

Team is not perfect but it is as fun a team to watch as we have had in a long while. Lavin had two solid tourney teams but just from an enjoyable stand point for me would have to go back to Barkley last year.

I don't care where the teams are in the standings. Anytime you beat Georgetown makes it a great win!

LJ knows how to play winning basketball. That's something that's been sorely lacking around here for a long time. If we had him last year, no way do we lose 11 straight at the start of conference play (because many of those games were close).

Shamorie was fabulous. Great steal in the overtime.

Off day for Clark, but that goes with the territory of being a shooter, and he still hit a big 3 in the OT (dumb play when he fouled Govan on the three, though).

Kudos to the bench players. I thought they helped turn things around on defense in both halves, which led to the comebacks.

I think we've learned a lot about the character of this team, this past week. So now, not only are we winning, but we've passed the character test. As long as we stay healthy, the rest of this year should be very exiting.

I still can't get over how good that Ponds steal was. My jaw is still on the floor.

So impressed with that gutty win today really showed a lot today never quit on this game! Keita with some great contributions today , ponds not only the points but huge defensive plays! Great to get a win on the road against Gtown!!

The three bench guys all did fine. We are not going to rely on it much unless something happens so if they can play like today with Keita and Williams with potential to play even better......

One thing I've noticed is how engaged and supportive the entire bench is. That's a result of the culture of the team created by CM and co. Job well done there. They all played like a team today. Great effort. Exciting to see the whole bench making noise for the guys on the floor.

Thrilled with the win, but up 96-90 with :57 seconds left, coming out of a timeout, how do we have Simon as the primary ball handler. A possession or two before that, he holds the ball too long causing a shot clock violation. Ponds has to have the ball in his hands. We stole this game but I hope we learn moving forward

He’s also got quick feet and can guard smaller players nicely. Big addition for us over the course of the season. Need all the depth we can get to make a solid run.

Don't forget Figgy's steal at the end of regulation, and he made both free throws, to boot. We don't go to OT without that play, obviously.

Ponds looked like he knew exactly where that pass was going to go. It was just a matter of timing his jump right, and he did it perfectly.

Beating G'Town on the road in a nationally televised game has to be impressive enough.

Great day for the Big East. If you are near a TV may want to check out end of Nova/Prov game. Great rally by Prov may fall just short.
SJU going to play some epic games this year.
