(POST GAME) @Creighton, Wed., Jan. 19, 7p, FS-1

In addition to some great offensive games, Champagnie has had a bunch of poor offensive performances this year

NJIT, Farleigh Dickinson, Monmouth, Providence and now Creighton

Pathetic game and btw Creighton had 19 turnovers & still spanked us. SJ so dependent on one guy to win, a bad formula. When Julian is off  the result is obvious.
Yep. No Champ, no shot.

Now would be a great time for Cragg to host one of his Ask the AD anything Q&A on Twitter

It’s games like this that makes me think Champy could use another year.

i wouldn’t blame Champ if he entered the transfer portal to get the hell out of St. John’s.
Lucky for SJU that there's not a transfer portal for fans

St. John’s demolished by Creighton in ugly loss

WOW, I can’t believe it …… some people actually want to blame Julian Champagnie for the many failures this season by the St. John’s team and it’s coaches.

Champagnie is a thoroughbred and St. John’s fans should understand that Julian  is an asset, not the problem.  This teams failures are the result of the system and coaches, not the fault of Julian Champagnie.

if I were Julian’s father (who may possibly read this thread) I would tell my son to not return to the St. John’s broken system; either give the NBA a try, or find the transfer portal particularly if St. John’s myopic fans want to blame Julian.  By Bye.

This was supposed to be a step-up year for us and a 'rebuilding' or 'transition' year for them. Meanwhile they just ended any remaining chance we had at going on a run and getting into the tournament picture while they own wins over a few tournament teams already. That's the difference between our program and a successful one.

Julian got his lunch taken on both ends by freakin Alex O'Connell tonight. I don't think any NBA scouts have been impressed by him lately.

At this point I don’t think Champagnie, Posh or Wusu will be back. Posh and Wusu are a package deal. They’ll end up at a school like Rutgers or Penn St and kill it in the Big Ten. Champagnie will wind up at a blue blood if he stays in school and will play his way into a mid first rounder there.

Otis - I didn't blame him for tonight's loss or others..its a team effort led by our coach.

I simply noted that Champ had a fair share of sub par performances.  Not all his fault but you tell me if he was playing hungry like he was a few nights ago against DePaul.

Night & Day difference from the opening whistle.

Seems like Wheeler has earned a starting role; time for Mathis to come off the bench.

Mathis is like a less athletic version of  Dom Pointer before Pointer got better.

This is really bad. Mathis is not at this level. Coaching is poor from player selection, player development and in game execution. Very hard to defend this type of performance. Coaching!!!!!!!!

If none of those three were to return, how could the administration possibly retain CMA?  In all seriousness, Wusu would be out of his mind to transfer.  He’ll never get anywhere near as much burn as he gets with Anderson.

Effort on both ends of the floor and under the boards was just not there from the start. You can't leave good shooters open for what seemed like minutes and expect them to miss.

Would it really matter if they transferred?  They are here and we stink!
