(POST-GAME) Creighton, Thur., Dec. 17, 5p, FS-1 / 970 AM WNYM

I’m in no way saying the guy is a savior by any stretch of the imagination but Roberts needed to get some serious minutes in this game the way their bigs were taking us to the cleaners. He needs to start against Georgetown and Wahab

I was probably about as conservative in my expectations for this team as anyone, and still I may have grossly overestimated our ability. Come the end of the season, we may wish we finished in 9th place. Losing faith with each game.

Creighton is a very good team. We are not.

Obviously in dog house. Wonder how he practices

Let's see, our guards are slow, can't stop the ball and can't shot; our front line are string beans who have a hard time rebounding. That us not a formula for success. We always seem to recruit slashing "showtime" players, where are the basketball players who can shoot the ball?
Like most on the site I am a bit frustrated. Every year I look forward to the season and ut has been quite a while since I have been anything but disappointed

Roberts came in the game, he got a couple of rebounds , he challenged and altered a shot by Kalkbrenner and then hit a little jumper at the end of the game.

Breaking news.

If you go outside and jump into a snowbank you may get wet

Well we need something to break our way if we are ever going to turn thus around.

Easy to say it is early, but the D is beyond atrocious and hard to think that will improve very quickly. Once again they have dug a big hole early in a tough BE. I thought seventh place was possible but likely it will be lower I hate to say. Hopefully the kids don’t get discouraged.

Cole dog house situation if true is concerning, considering their absence of scorers. He’s not perfect, but not sure they can fill his 12 ppg easily.

Is it me or do these guys look miserable? The whole team seems to just have that puss on their faces.

I guess losing does it but they didn't look like they wanted to play tonight from the start.

Haven't you heard as one notable poster has stated there is no room for him to see playing time here I guess we're too good.

I still believe this team finishes 10-10 in the conference and goes to the NCAA tournament.

Say what you want about Cole, but we don't beat St. Peter's and Rider without him. That's scary.

Craighton was in control the entire game. Totally different from the Covid game that ended at halftime last season.

I rather see Roberts start over Isaih. He's a little bigger and more experienced. Isaih needs a lot of work on his shot and has to get bigger.

Dunn is looking better. He still doesn't look like the player we saw last season.

The short preseason has really hurt the Johnnie's. The new kids aren't ready. It's going to be a tough stretch of games.

The body language on some of the kids, in particular Champ, was not good. It is still early, but one of my biggest concerns about this team cannot be fixed this year; our lack of a low post presence. Like you, I thought 7th place was a possibility. Guess it still is, but so is last place.
