(POST GAME) @Butler, Tues., Feb. 9, 9p, FS-1 / 570 AM WMCA

Dunn turning it over at the end of regulation did it.  We had thegame if he gets fouled and buries his free throws.

Very disappointing loss - Hard one to swallow
Get the inbounds pass from Wusu to Dunn successfully, we probably win the game

Echoing  , very bad loss . Some questionable calls plus questionable play calling on SJU sideline didn't help but , blowing 16 point leads is tough to overlook .

Champ with an uncharacteristic 5 turnovers.

Gutted about this loss. Yes, the Johnnies were not good enough on the boards, but the refs tonight seriously made the difference between winning and losing. This is pretty much the hardest kind of regular season loss to take.

That being said, this is our team and they never gave up. They will still go dancing, I believe that. Here comes a week to regroup and a favorable pair of games coming up before a chance to punch their ticket with certainty.

Goes without saying but the inbounds pass is our Achilles Heel. Plus, where’s the backdoor help on their drives?

Butler did things to us tonight that Jay Wright took extensive notes on. Get ready for a beat down in Philly

The turnover was not all on Dunn.  Tough pass

If he makes both, which was unlikely.  Offensively, everything was a struggle from mid first half on.  Even on the shots we made, most of them hung on the rim for awhile, before going in.

Maybe it's because we won 6 straight prior to this, but this doesn't make me nearly as angry as the Gtown loss did.  Butler is 5-2 at home in the Big East, and with minimal crowds, many of them have been second half comebacks.

What a frustrating loss.

16 point lead, ahead with seconds left on the clock. You simply have to win this game. Offense was really poor in the 2nd half, lack of continuity was apparent. Really wanted to see Moore play more in the 2nd half idk why he was on the bench down the stretch.

When you're on a winning streak with tournament hopes on the line, you need to be better than fumbling balls into the opponent's hands when it matters most. Dunn hit some big shots in the 2nd half, but my god. Time and time again he has shown that he can't be trusted with the ball in his hands late in games.

Pissed. On to Xavier.

Once Butler got comfortable and started running their stuff is when the game suddenly got tight.  They continued to get what they wanted for the most part the rest of the way.

OT wasn't in our best interest as we witnessed how that played out.  IMO, we would have "stolen" this game had we taken care of business in regulation.

This goes down as a bad loss and we gotta find a way to either make up this loss or simply win at least 4 more conference games.

The inbounds play is the story.  We had the game won, just had to inbound the ball.

Also, we did not adjust to their adjustment.  Anyone watching this game notice they decided to take everything to the rim and it was just too easy.

Growing pains.....on to the next.

Lots of contributions to the loss.
It seems easy in retrospect but I would have preferred going for the 3 instead of the drive by Wusu near the end.
Fortunately we got the ball again with another chance...this time definitely for a 3 and a good pass over to our key scorer.
But this game was lost on the defensive side more than the Dunn turnover or the misses at the end.
In both halves they had just far too many unfettered drives, put backs off rebounds, and we never got our usual dose of turnovers, deflections, steals.
Throw in some highly questionable refereeing........just disappointing for the team to lose one that could have had with a solid performance.

Well that was frustrating.  Somehow up 2 with 12 seconds left we should win this game.  That said.  Can't win em all especially on road no matter if we are better than them.  Bad night from posh.  He's been great.  Time to move on. Regroup and start another winning streak.
