(POST-GAME) @Butler, Sat. Jan. 19, 4:30pm, FOX / 570AM

Perhaps you are expecting too much
Did not see this game but looking at the stats it was obvious ,perhaps from a coaching and prep we did not contain their best player. Letting him go off for 30 how could we expect to win. Do not know how many mins Williams and Trimble had collectively but we got no pets and Simon only giving us 8 pts was bad for such a talent, now these are opinions which since I did not see the game can probably be questioned. But based on our last 2 games you can see why basketball pundits did not want to include us in a top 25 it is going to be extremely hard to make the ncaa since there will be more loses to come . I know we play small ball but that does not look like it works against quality teams. so getting back to coaching perhaps even with an experienced coach the results would have been the same. At this point I do not know what else they can do since every team we play has a quality center

Reality is we are middle of the pack. The in season record says so. To be elite you need to beat teams like Butler on the road. That Butler squad is not very good.

Baldwin and Tucker had 56 points . Baldwin 30 and Tucker 26 . Tucker is from White Plains , transfered from Duke How did we not get a shot ? Question to Matt A ? We really are missing a spot up 3 point shooter who is consistent . Even if off the Bench . We don’t have one now .

We are gonna beat Georgetown, and then lose 3 straight.

Many will give up. We will end the season on an 8 game winning streak and win the big east tournament

My official prediction

Don't know how much I can respect anyone's opinion that says they didn't watch the game. I watch every possession and I'm in Florida.

New Jets Head Coach Adam Gase:
“Losing hurts twice as much as winning. You love winning because you hate losing that much”.
Go St. John’s!

The guarantee and NCAA Tournament berth, we have have to sweep three of these teams, Georgetown, Creighton, Marquette, Xavier and Providence. Split with everyone else.

Butler hit some ridiculous shots. We missed many easy ones. They got a friendly home whistle. That is pretty much how 90% of Big East games go for road teams not named Villanova.

Zach
Chris Mullin said they hamered home point not to let Jordan Tucker get open looks. It was in game plan. It clearly wasn't followed. #sjubb

Attention to detail not a strong point at SJU too often.

Says a lot
Zach B
Chris Mullin was not happy with effort and energy level. Knows it wasn't physical because of how St. John's finished. Asked why, he didn't know. #sjubb

That's just not accurate. 10-9 with a win the Big East tournament gets us in. 9-9 plus a win is bubble city.
I disagree. I don’t think 9 wins is enough b/c of our out of conf schedule.
It is not

The thought of being 9-9 in year 4 makes me sick

Especially with the talent on this team.

We’d be on the ropes following 3 straight losses to Creighton, Duke, Marquette.
To rescue the season from that ditch would require a huge gut check, resolve, and playing 40 minutes of consistent high-quality hoops those 8 final games of the regular season and a few doses of ‘good luck’ added to that.
We haven’t shown that yet for sure.
Guess you never know.
From your lips, Jack...

Especially with the talent on this team.
Exactly. From a starting 5 perspective most talent since Jarvis beginning and even worse it's mostly veterans. We gotta have the oldest starting 5 in the big east or close to it

The refs may have sucked...but it was bad for both teams.
Our calls just seemed more blatant because they came when we are trying to come back.
