Does Bob Barker =Bill Walton ?
If we could get Dee to post in caps like bob barker, he'd be my second all time fave poster, especially if he talks about doherty. :)
While stats are important, every single one of these kids do things that don’t appear in the box score. Especially on the defense end. For instance, Sears’ numbers last night did not tell the whole story of his contribution. On a number of occasions, at least a couple of times towards the tail end of the game, he slid over on defense and prevented a drive to the hoop and a likely basket. We outfought Zona for a number of loose balls. These are the kind of things these kids do that help us win but don’t appear in the box score.
The most dramatic change is the offensive rebounding stats. We went from bottom nationally to top 40. The previous staff never instilled in the players the importance of offensive rebounding or valuing the ball. I credit Matt for finding our three sophomores but unfortunately the coaches had not clue on bringing on freshmen.
As for Mullin's absence from the game I think it would have been an awkward situation.

I despise the shoot and retreat offense of past few years. We keep this rebounding up I’ll even buy CMA and entire staff BPA’s. Offensive rebounds as rebounds in general are the gift that keeps on giving. It’s like freaking Christmas under the boards and even i we don’t get the rebound we got guys throwing themselves around trying to get them and that translates to effort on 50-50 balls etc

It’s nice seeing Roberts and the Duke getting offensive rebounds and put backs for easy baskets.

To add a little clarity to this discussion one of the main reasons this was instituted was because of long threads being hard to navigate on mobile screens. There were also some occasions where the threaded replies became ridiculously deep and then on small screens they were very hard to read physically. When I moved the forum to a flat version with no threading several years ago, there was a lot of complaints from people that didn't like the flat format - which is generally easier to navigate on small screens. But this current version does have nested quotes where similar issues can cause a problem because of the nested quotes getting too deep.
Paul I’m somewhat illiterate when it comes to this kind of language, but here’s a suggestion if it makes sense; continue the game thread and when the game ends and change the title to include the page signifying where the game ends. This way anyone who doesn’t want to read the game posts, and doesn’t want to have to figure out where the game posts end, can pick up on the page denoted in the title of the post. And those of us who tend to post a lot during the game can continue the conversation. Not sure if that solves your other nesting issue, since frankly I have no clue what you’re talking about lol.[/quote

Or keep the 3 seperate threads, but keep the game thread open until people start posting less on it.
Maybe late that night or the next day. Have the game and post threads both open would be ok?
Good idea CMA, my only concern would be that it might be confusing to have the 2 open at the same time. Still Id prefer your idea over the current situation.
