Nope from press conference video it was that lefty wing who transferred from miss st I think and then transferred to WKU I believe before never playing.
Kid from A&M I believe. He never got to suit up.

Oh man, I remember CMA's press conference feeling so forced and uninspired. Like he was just told the day before about St. John's and was there the next day recruiting kids during the press conference... because that's literally what happened.
To his credit, though, the team mostly stayed. That was the most important thing at the time since there wasn't the expanded transfer portal and it was so late in the off-season.
Needless to stay Pitino is a much more dynamic speaker and probably already has planned what he'll say. That, combined with his credential, NY personality, and early timing should make for an amazing press conference.

I think the idea of NOT having to deal with Football would be attractive to a potential coaching candidate, no matter the name. This is (mainly) and basketball only conference...allows you to focus singularly, also allows you to not be "second fiddle" to a football program and or have to get pulled in multiple directions. Hypothetically a guy like Rick Pitino and the gravitas he comes with would be asked to help with fundraising for football at a major football school given his connections.Agree.
