Pitino
ironically i think Pitino is more affordable than Hurley.
True
But Pitino will leave us with checks we can't cash after the fact
I have mixed feelings regarding “Slick” Rick being hired but the longtime members of the StJohn’s Board of Directors should not take the high moral ground given the public allegations against “Suites” Harrington, Cecelia Chang (Sale of Doctoral Degrees, forced manual labor, etc), personal loan to Harrington’s assistant, etc.
This!!!

No brainer hire. Themes of penance, forgiveness and redemption. Prodigal son returns. Fitting last act. Zero doubt that we would win, win a lot, and win soon. The financial benefits to the school would be exponential.

Isn't that what organized religion has always been about?

Bingo!

If the SJU hoop coach abused a young boy the Catholic Church would TRANSFER him to be the baseball coach but I guess RP's transgressions of consensual hetero relations is worse.

Haha! I like that, as it's funny. Particularly has some merit, too.

Thank You!

Pitino won't be hired because the school is worried about a PR hit - not because anyone cares about what he has done. So actually, that does seem consistent with the "mission."

I wish I could thank this more than 1 time. Enough of the sanctimonious bs when it comes to the Catholic Church. Granted I don't want this to turn into any bashing of the church.. But come on now

In today's 24 hour news cycle, no one should worry about a PR hit. Everyone will move on within days max. Plus Pitino has some major media players (Vitale for one) who will advocate zealously on his behalf.

Correct. And I would further clarify your post by explaining that "the school" is in fact Bobby G. One who wants absolutely nothing to do with controversy or PR. Whatsoever.

If you hire Pitino I guarantee you could play 12 games a year at MSG and they would be sold out.

He will make the school $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I am sure MSG would be all for it.

MSG, FOX, and NIke.....all would love for Pitino to come here..

Pitino would build a consistent winner here , his worst teams at Louisville we’re better then any team we have had here since the days of Ron Artest. Has he made some mistakes in his life yes, who hasn’t. It’s laughable though to say he can’t be hired Here cause of the church an organization filled with sex offenders what’s worse Pitino paying for an abortion or abusing children.
