At some point, when you are the coaching staff, watching a 22 to 1 or a 35 to 5 run and you have a young team, with no one with experience to be an on the court coach, you have to call time out, just to break momentum or to clear their heads. This deficit is in large part a function of the lack of poise in the coaching more than the lack of player skill.
