Orlando Sanchez

man 72 relax a bit you have been tough to read the past couple of weeks. lets just enjoy the victory for what it is. Even if Sanchez only plays 10 games its better than him not playing at all.

Agree.... I usually like what '72 brings to the board, but he has been rather rough to read the past two weeks. It's like he's done a total 180 with his posts.

I understand we all have our opinions and message boards are all about discussions.... But, it seems like you're almost spamming, as well, '72. Posting nearly the same stuff on each and every thread is practically spamming. We got it the first 4 or 5 times you said it. We get it, my friend. Maybe, yesterday's win is the win that get us going. We shall eventually find out.

As, far as Sanchez is concerned.... I'm not confident he'll be with us either, but I'm willing to wait for the official word before I start proclaiming that my opinion or some anonymous person info are factual. That's absurd!

Zags' does have access to some good sources, but that doesn't particularly mean his source on the Sanchez situation is on the money, per se'. I wouldn't just take that info and run with it like it was the gospel. It seems emotional posts run rampant with a few folks on here.

I'm not one who likes to throw stuff back in the face of posters, but some of you are just asking for a big, huge, helping of crow served with the hottest of hot sauces. Relax, folks.

If it won't take a very respected journalist close with the team who reports that the NCAA says he won't play for us, then what will? That's about as much proof as you can get as a lay person following the team. Don't understand why some think legitimate articles are some kind of propaganda or conspiracy. With that said, if by some absurd miracle all reports were wrong I will eat crow with a smile on my face.

Zags isn't a respected journalist, he's a blogger. He often has good sources and good info but I think you're confused about what he is. he also blogs about rock and roll and tennis.

And to add there are plenty of folks on this board closer to the team than he. Doesn't mean he's wrong. But again, if it was over and there was no room for appeal Orlando wouldn't be at STJ.

Thought I saw people say he was not with the team?

He went home for Holidays and missed the Asheville game.
And can't travel to road games.

so why is gg and max allowed to? is it because they haven't been deemed ineligible by the ncaa? just curious.

I am just tired of this thread. It is all wishful thinking. The next post on this thread should be that he is declared eligible and will be playing. Otherwise, no comments are needed

Don't open it, if that is how you feel.

I'm assuming that once a decision is rendered, it will be posted next to Orlando's name in the topic. Until then, expect more banter.

To Moose:
When was the last time he was seen on the sidelines in a SJ uniform? I cannot even recall.
He went "home" after the first semester ended. He supposedly stopped practicing before then.
Is he back?
Is he practicing?
If this were a UK or KU player their fans would have thousands of on-line questions and comments.

To my friendly critics:
I did not start this thread. I assume it is not locked because there is still interest (and hope) in this player.

Patience and apathy are defined very differently in the world of sports.
You mention something that makes you uncomfortable on redmen 4 or 5 times and you are accused of being a spammer? LMAO! If you are a fan of three monkeys rather than the interests of the team, why even visit this site? Take a break as has been suggested by some.
That is why I do not criticize new blood here like Joe3.....at least he shows interest. How many times he says something or changes his mind is none of my business. If I disagree, I say so.
Some here should concentrate their on line "clicks" to this redmen site rather than take residence on JJ because they have the hots for Linda Mirabella. LOL!
Those clicks matter.

GG is redshirting, their are no NCAA restrictions on him regarding his travelling with the team. I don't believe Hooper is travelling as transfer's who are sitting out don't normally travel on the road with the team (not sure if it is an NCAA or a St John's rule).

Gift, Hooper and Branch all went to Barclays game.

Again also its STJ discretion. They might not want to pay for extra room or flight etc for players depending on the location and such.

It wasn't a home game.
These arena's dont have tons of bench space. Case in point our Garden game all 3 guys say behind the bench.
Why does it matter? He's still part of the team as of today.

You are the only person on here who has mentioned he stopped practicing. If your privy to that that you are probably able to find out his whereabouts on whatever date you want to know about.

Gift, Hooper and Branch were there as they were at all designated home games. The SF game was on December 15th. Staying with the subject of the thread.......Where was Sanchez on that date?

It wasn't a home game.
These arena's dont have tons of bench space. Case in point our Garden game all 3 guys say behind the bench.
Why does it matter? He's still part of the team as of today.

You are the only person on here who has mentioned he stopped practicing. If your privy to that that you are probably able to find out his whereabouts on whatever date you want to know about.

I thought in the Michigan Alumni Reunion Tourney we were designated as the home team against SF even though they were located a few blocks up Remsen. I don't give a crap where our inactive players sit----next to the cheerleaders, behind the bench, whatever......they are allowed to wear an official SJ jersey and be considered members of the team, albeit, inactive.
Someone I know (and trust) recently attended a practice and noticed Sanchez was not there. Could he have been in the weight room? Maybe. But for all your twitter heads and NCAA rules research specialists------can a player ruled "ineligible" practice with the team?
If you do not know----just say so! Because he appears on an outdated roster on redstorm does not mean he is part of the team....if that is your source of information. The bigger question is, in a couple of weeks, will he be registered and on an athletic scholarship.
For those that do not like these "Sanchez questions" on a Sanchez thread......lock the effen thing up already!

man 72 relax a bit you have been tough to read the past couple of weeks. lets just enjoy the victory for what it is.

GG is redshirting, their are no NCAA restrictions on him regarding his travelling with the team. I don't believe Hooper is travelling as transfer's who are sitting out don't normally travel on the road with the team (not sure if it is an NCAA or a St John's rule).

I know he missed some practices because of shoulder issues. Check on that before starting the conspiracy theories.

orlando's coach at monroe college, jeff brustad, says he expects orlando to be declared eligible this week!!!

What conspiracy theory??? I am posing simple questions and in much earlier threads on this subject all you had to say was " he missed practices due to an injury"! The practice that a collegue attended there was no Sanchez......I said he could have been in the weight room ...... All you needed to say was "he is injured".
As a fan, I want either him or Gift active for this team ..... For the teams good. One of those two is the difference between having depth up front or having Amir play center if Chris fouls out.

Weill he's obviously lying and I suggest he speak to Adam Zagoria in the future before all public statements. ;)

That would make us very happy! As a previous poster said, I would take Orlando for the last 10 games of the BE season than no games at all. If it materializes it would pay for SJ to take a full page ad in El Diario rather than an ad in Times Square. LOL!
