Official Visits

Oh, our guys don't change views as new info comes in?
Slater just picked Clemson for Dawes yesterday, as his visit to SC looms.
That made me nervous, but who knows.
Great we're still in it for Dawes and the big 3.
Hoping a great season might tip it for us for guys deciding 'late'.
It seems like you put a bit too much credence into 247's "Crystal Ball." As, I once told someone.... Pay attention to the Crystal Ball about 12-24 hours before a commitment. Heck! With that said, they can still occasionally have it wrong.

A good season could potentialy "tip" a kid, but more times than not that type of belief is overplayed by some fans.
Okay, I hear you guys. I do like it & enjoy trying to figure out. I throw out 'old' predictions (longer than a month) and 'rookie' guesses This is the best I can get, since I am not privy to 'inside buzz'.

Just ran into a neighbor on an evening walk. He sells insurance and other financial products for a living. He told me how hard it is to put a sales team together. Most people, he said, just can't handle the 99 "no's" before they hear a yes. Sounds like recruiting for St. John's. A job that requires a lot of perseverance and a positive attitude.

I had to get my own clients. Nothing was given to me. It's tough I take a lot of vacations now but I worked first 8 years 6 days a week with no sick days or vacation days. Didnt take a vacation till my 10th year. Success ratio Uber low. I'd image it's like that in a lot of businesses

I think Matt wouldn't burn out as quickly if we had someone to take 20 or so of those no's off his shoulders every year.

It's a shame that you'll lose a lot of those clients once they see you in your outfit on TV at the Big East finals.

We are not unique in that respect. Having a positive attitude is just a much better way to go through life. As far as excuses go, none of these posts are about excuses as 80% of the board has already said no excuses this year! But that doesn't mean we have to just repeat defeatist, depressing mantras like we can't close. Not sure what that accomplishes. I guess it is a kind of comic relief.

Funny thing is literally more than half the time my clients call me to talk traveling etc. My assistant cracks up because I give them restaurants and plan some of their vacations and they text me on vacation to see how it is and want pics. Plus some are friends with me on facebook and instagram so most have seen my Bavarian outfit but at a St Johns game wearing it they might think I'm nuts.

Go for it Mike, screw the career!
