Official 2014-2015 Schedule Thread

That is a great schedule in my opinion when you include Duke, Syracuse, Then 2 out of 3 - Gonzaga, Minnesota, and Georgia.

All will give us a boost in RPI.

I assume one or both of California teams will be return games and will play them on way out or back from Maui following season.

Think this may be a payback game from St. Mary's as we opened the season a few years back at their place

No need to get there early. Sheesh!

@JonRothstein: Fordham/LIU + St. John's/Tulane will be a double header at the Barclays Center on 12/28/14, source told @CBSSports. #SJUBB

the bar at buffalo wild wings across the street will have more people in it than the 1st game. lol

I might actually walk in that one early to root for LIU. Hope they turn it around this season

No need to worry about getting good seats if you are interested in going to that double header.

I think if the Barclays wants to get a real crowd they should do five games starting at noon and going all day

Get teams from all around New York to participate and maybe just maybe there will actually be a crowd

The problem with that, much like the triple header over the holidays, is that most folks only come in for their own team's games. If that's the case 5 games means about 20% of the seats filled at any one time, even if it's a sellout. If you want folks to come to all games and stay in their seats then present compelling match ups or top programs. Quality, not quantity!

Does anyone know whether we will extend the Syracuse series after the 2015 season? Also, assuming the Duke series is renewed, will it be yearly or just a home and home?

I hope we do not renew Syracuse, and not with uconn.

FWIW, it appears that Fordham is out for this, and that Hofstra is in, per Jon Rothstein:

Hofstra/LIU and St. John's/Tulane will headline a double header at the Barclays Center on 12/28/2014, source told @CBSSports. #SJUBB

Pecora dropped off for Hofstra. That's irony

Wow, that will really make a difference!

@whitebluereview: More games added to the @BIGEASTMBB non-conference schedules for 2014-15. See what's there so far:http://t.co/tKbD35lzJp

According to this, Villanova is playing Cuse in 2015---at MSG. WTF?

It actually makes sense. For their fan base, they have to schedule at least one game at MSG a season. Since we play them next year away up next to Canada, they have to schedule another opponent down here in NYC.
There is no reason to be alarmed about this, it was bound to happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nova wanted a home and home with them in Philly/Cuse, but Syracuse refused and said that MSG had to be involved.

The game should be against us, not Nova. MSG is not Nova's house, it is ours.

Nothing is official yet, they agreed to a home and home series with last year's game at the Dome and this year's game at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly. The rumor is they will play a 3rd game at a "neutral site" next year:

Bottom line is it's good for Cuse , good for Nova and MGG makes money.MSG isn't going to let other programs playing on our turf interfere w their payday.
