Off Season Tidbits

Nice to have another CHSAA player on the roster. Conference is full of good teams and it's impossible to predict the level of success, but I think we have players and coaches who will give full effort and will be easy to pull for.

It looks like Thomas O´Connell graduated this year.
Can he be a walk-on?
Or he will be a Graduate Assistant?
Both Graduate Assistants of last season (Evan Orzolek and Jordan Sears) don´t appear in the Coaching Staff.

We will see obviously; myself, I shy away from predictions but I have a much better feeling about this year than many “experts”. Two proven scorers and I think we have the personnel and the coaches to have a very good defensive team and to find that third scorer game to game. Defense is effort and from everything I have heard everyone has bought into that message and with Heron and Figueroa both team oriented players I don’t see the ball not being shared. So I think we surprise many people.

I share your sentiments about this season. Last season when I had grave reservations and was very worried about a proper sharing of the ball and a team effort many scoffed at my posts. I feel that this years squad while short on game experience and obviously no third scorer at this point could be good if that third scorer emerges with some consistency, Dunn or Steere , for 10 points a game , and défense and rebounding are stressed. I believe it will happen and we will find ourselves with s team that is easy to root for.
Looking forward to this season.

I’m sure CMA expects to keep his ‘no losing seasons’ streak in tact. With two legitimate all league players, both of which cover a few holes + 11/12 available bodies there is the potential for a top 6 finish. Lot of things will have to go right but it’s great not throwing away a season before it starts like Lavins second year or Mullins first (not their fault btw).

When you have two of the best players in the Big East returning, you ought to do better than 10th place, no post season.

Except that aside from them, going into the season we have no proven third scorer, no proven low-post player, and no proven point guard.

Many share that opinion Red. That's why I think we will surprise some fans and opponents.

I'll take a Sr point guard regardless of his track record over many others most of the time.

I sure hope you're right, 72, but a lot of if's are going to have to go our way.

I can’t argue with your points at all, they are valid; we shall see.

Regardless of how the season goes ( I'm in the camp of thinking we outperform ) I'm looking forward to exciting defense, player development a lot less bad shot taking and hopefully continued picking up steam recruiting

Have to agree that seeing what Anderson can do with this group is the most interesting aspect of the coming season along with hopefully some competitive games. I have no idea how this team will perform although I expect them to improve as the season goes on.

Which ones, and for what players? Unblock me on twitter, by the way.
