Obekpa refused to play?

Plain simple refused to play. If Mods feel as if this should be delated then do so. I wrote it after learning about it. Was upset just like the rest of you

I was pissed for him. 18:36 to under ten before Lavin looked his way. Game was over.

Game wasn't over, we cut the lead to 1 and Sampson missed the layup that could have put us ahead.

Appreciate the clarity.

I heard from a reliable person that there was some sort of argument on the bench between CO and coaching staff. It's possible that person was speculating or had heard something from a less than reliable source, but I don't believe that to be true. CO played about 3 minutes, no? 1.5 each to start each half? It would be confounding as Providence scored inside that we couldn't use him.

If it's true, I hope it doesn't affect Diallo recruiting. I think he didn't get in because Sanchez was having a superior game.

Let him go to the NBA. Maybe the Sixers would sign him.

Perhaps there's benefit letting things simmer & see how this plays out. The facts matter.

So it's hearsay.

Not insight, but hearsay..

I'm guessing that you were at the game. On TV, in slo-mo, you could see Derosier get a piece of the ball. There's a guy that knows his role. Doesn't try to force things, and hits his foul shots.

I don't want to believe it.Tells us if you really know.If he did then he should not wear the uniform
I won't get into details because it is not my place. I am sure the whole drama will come out soon.

Well my coworker's wife's 3rd cousin saw a basketball game once...and the cousin said that the reason CO didn't play was because he had a hangnail on his 6th toe due to him staying out all night at the clubs.

If you are going to have the b*lls to start a thread like this....at least have the b*lls to explain the situation.

If you won't get into details of it, then why even bring it up? That's something a15yr old girl would do.

That 2-on-1 was the game...Providence and its fans were ready to slit their wrists

CO should have been back in sooner...his foul trouble hurt us...don't know whether Lavin would have adjusted but we needed to play a bigger lineup (Sampson/Sanchez/Obekpa/Gift)...3 guard lineup was too small...

But he bears responsibility for getting in foul trouble with some ill conceived reach-ins..

when he was pulled after picking up 3rd at beginning of 2nd half he wasn't happy and didn't slap five with coach....may be nothing

Maybe Jordan should have taken the shot.

What is he supposed to say? "I'm Karr's brother and he texted me about it right after the game". ?? or, "I'm fr Joe the priest at the end of the bench, I saw and heard it myself".
People can't say things because it will come back to bite them, or their family members, in the ass.

I have a very hard time believing this happened too. But what more do you want the poster to say?
The "what", is pretty obvious: Obekpa was pissed coach sat him for so long, so when coach did call on him, he refused to go back in.

If you want to know how the poster knows, that's asking for too much.

Unfortunately, I agreed that he had to sit the entire 1st half with 2 fouls, and then sit with the quick #3. But I'm guessing he should have been back by the 12 minute mark, no? Not having him back lends credence to the idea that something happened.

His 2nd foul was D Los fault. He was getting into position to set a pick and Harrison started his move before he was set so got called for the moving pick. But the other 2 fouls were on him. Only played 2 minutes

He should have been back when they started playing goddamn volleyball on the offensive side of the ball. That was disgusting to watch. He had three fouls..not four...and the game was sinking fast. What's the point of saving a kid's fouls if the game swells to 17 points with ten minutes left. CO changes the game like few others in the country and he is our best rebounder and post defender. Think they would pull that tip drill with him in there? No way.
