Obekpa and weed

Not singling out Jacklitsch, who is supposedly a good guy, but whenever I see adults coming forward with contradictory statements, I usually assume the adult is up to something. But I guess that happens more with high school kids and their handlers.

I don't think it really matters what anyone speculates or says at this point. He met with coach and coach and Obekpa seem to be satisfied with the decision that was made.

No doubt Coach Mullin knows that's going on and he is planning SJU's future accordingly.

@AdamZagoria: 'All reports that Chris Obekpa is returning to St. John's are false. Chris has not made a decision yet.' @EJack_ says

E Jack is his former AC at OSNA.

If I'm Chris Mullin, this would be all I would need to hear about CO given his behavior at key moments on this team.

Not sure you're coming back? I'm sure.....you won't be back

Why?
Because he "might" be taking hia time to think about his future?
the season has been over for two what? Two weeks? Heaven for bid.

Relax. I believe CO is coming back. But even if he's not sure, the fact that his go coach said he's still thinking about what to do, is no reason not to welcome him back.

Eric Jacklitsch is his former AC at OSNA. I don't believe this fwiw.

Would not be a devestating loss considering his offense

and weed ,put it back. why do guys care if he comes back? he is a big boy , if he wants to be prima donna and continue to think only about himself, it is beyond me why you still want him.

Because at the end of the day, its all about wins and losses, and we have a better chance of winning with him on our team.

It's becoming very clear that:

If he comes back the overwhelming public opinion will see it as positive.

If he doesn't come back the overwhelming public opinion will see it as positive.

That's the best win-win situation SJU fans have seen in a while. ;)

There's only been a handful of guys capable of 6 bpg, though, and he could be one of them if he manages to stay on the floor long enough.

Honestly think Obepka is coming back. Think his mind is made up. Just based on what he has posted on instagram. He wont be draft, he probably wont even make a d league squad. And I think he knows this. I would like to see him come back and prove himself.

As a fan, I don't want to see him back. The recent suspension is at least the third issue for him. He seemed out of shape all season playing with guys who were in excellent condition. All season he was not able to keep up with them.

Mullin will assess what he has inherited and make the right decision.

CO is not in the drivers seat. Recently his negatives have far exceeded the positive.

Frankly I could not care less if he returns or not. I won't miss that stupid smirk on his face when he commits a bonehead 5th foul!

Good morning Zan, Beast and all
It's hard to add to this topic now without overlapping what has already been said but I decided to get off the elliptical for a moment.

I like win win situations and yes, if he doesn't come back we will not miss him. A WIN! However, if he returns it cannot hurt. At worst Chris will sit him on the bench - and there's always a chance he can give us productive minutes especially if he's not starting.
A WIN.
We all trust Chris to get the most out of him...AND
Since none of us grow up emotionally ( studies say) until the mid to late 20s, let's give this youngggg man a chance. (why some of us are still trying to mature emotionally, I guess I should speak for myself :) )

all the best

Think we had some of our better games when he was not playing

Whether he comes back or not he could turn out to be one of the most influential SJU players of recent years. His stupidity might have caused the tournament loss which made it easier to let Lavin go.
It's strictly guesswork but it appears SJU was aware of Mullin's interest in the coaching job prior to letting Lavin walk and it would have been tougher to let him go had SJU beat SDST.
With the impact Chris's hiring has had on the SJU community we might want to hang OB's number off the rafters on next season's opening night whether he is here or not.

CO has acted like we need him more than he needs us. And his coach at OSNA just confirmed it.

I'm quite tired of the OSNA drama TBH with all parties involved.

The staff needs to draw a line in the sand because it is becoming quite obvious that we are being leveraged.

So he's like the Abe Keita of his generation...

right now he will at best be a D-league player. If he transfers he will sit out a year. He needs us more. Lets not play games here, just confirm your commitment to the coach and team and lets move on.....if not get out of the way, this train is moving fast.
