NY YANKEES - 2021

Really bad loss tonight.  Again no hitting with RISP, too many LOB.  Once again the pitching was more than good enough to win.  Torres at SS will kill this team as long as they leave him out there.  17 Orioles struck out and they had 4 hits and yet they won.  Like I said, bad loss.

Urshela was taking grounders at short in spring training.  Might be time to try him over there, with Torres at 2B, and DJ shifting over to third.

The major problem with Torres is that he just doesn't seem to have the arm strength to play short.  Even when his throws get outs, Bruce (and before him Voit) have to reach out to make sure they get it.  That's something that's not going to get much better, even with work.

Even worse, is that, like last year, he has been taking those defensive struggles to the plate with him.

game 7.
for the first time in this young season, the pitchers let the team down.
but the gloves were terrible.
wade at second lets 2 grounders to his left play him.
dj at third makes a fine scoop on a slow grounder and then throws the ball away.
torres runs a long way for a popup then runs past the ball.
the tauch poorly plays a ball over his head that gardy probably gets to.
clint poorly plays a ball that hits the wall that is #99's signature play.
all the above plays lead directly to rays runs.

I know he’d probably never do it, but maybe it’s time Boone goes ballistic  in the clubhouse dropping F bombs, turning over the Gatorade jug, destroying Judge's locker with a Louisville Slugger.

I couldn't believe 5 hits and no runs against 2 innings of Archer and a parade of no-name relievers.

game 8.
rays continue to dominate the yanks.
yanks bats ice cold. few hits, fewer runs.
maybe they should have sent to scranton the starting lineup.
german gave up a foul pole homer, and a blast to center field.
the other 2 runs were walk, hit batter, and comeback to mound that went off german's glove.
kraken should never/never/never throw to first trying to pick off a runner.
the daily torres-will make-an*error award goes to gio.

I’m enjoying the Keeganless Masters and do not miss the frustration of watching this version of the Yankees.

I think judge was injured watching the Masters or was it Stanton.

game 9.
thhhhhhhhhhhhhhe yanks finally beat the rays.
kraken comes through.
just when i am pronouncing gardy as the greatest mlb runner of all time, he goofs on the bases.
gio 453 feets, what a feat.

Thaaaaaa Yankeeeees Winnnnnn! I'm with them win or tie (and win in extra innings of course). /media/kunena/emoticons/blink.png

game 10.
higgy hot and hotter. kraken who.
higgy had 2 gettys, each over 400 feet.
yanks played like boone mapped it.
starter goes 5 or 6 innings. lights out bullpen takes over. yanks sticks eke out a few runs.
cashman gets another one week extension as recently acquired odor eater does well in back to back games.

Kracken with a base running blunder in the eight for the third out with tying run at the plate.

In addition to being slow and not a hustler, he is not a smart player. The sooner they find a replacement for him the better!
