He is obviously one of those managers who will never rip his players in public. Many managers have been successful doing that (Terry Francona comes to mind). In fact, one of the reasons he won 203 games his first two years, was probably because his more positive style was a welcome change from Girardi, who is wound so tight, that it tends to rub off on his players (it's happening in Philly now, too).Delaware post=434746 said:Watched Boone's post game comments. He has NO clue. He thought their at bats were good. They struck out 15 effing times!!!!! Keeps harping on needing to get better, but offers no solutions. When asked about hitting into so many DPs, he actually stumbled with trying to answer the question. He really is clueless. Change is needed.

Would not be averse to selling off pieces, and restocking, but Chapman is probably the only guy on this team you could get max value for (because great closers are hard to find, and he's signed for next year, so he wouldn't just be a rental).
Still, wouldn't hurt to start shopping some guys, IMO.
Ok, didn't know that. If we keep faltering though, maybe he'll be willing to wave it.Moose post=434791 said:SJU61982 post=434780 said:Getting more obvious by the day that Tampa and Boston are just better this year (maybe even Toronto).
