NY Post Critique

Somebody has very obviously been reading these message boards.
But good for Zach, I'm glad he echoed what many posters have been saying.

I agree with Zach 100%. Enough is enough with the kid gloves with Lavin. He has lost the team, lost most of us in the fan base and he looks like he wants to be elsewhere as does the team.
Very, very frustrating as I thought he was the guy.
I was wrong.

And the countdown has officially begun.

This was a stiff jab/setup punch by Zach.

The haymaker knockout blow may come Thursday night.

Does his colleague and frequent author of SJU pieces Mike Vaccaro chime in this weekend maybe?

What a disappointment this season has been. It's really stunning that this article was written on January 21st, when we are only five games into the conference season, and yet everything written in the article is spot on.

It's not inaccurate, and the speculations are plausible.

If he is considering walking, that would be a reason for not working his tail off recruiting, if indeed he isn't

Zach reads this site religiously. Some of the quotes border on plagiarism. Most of the comments are brutish, almost nasty and a direct challenge to the honesty and work ethic of the staff. He does sidestep the fact that a few people are calling for his removal, or, at the very least, to step down. Prominent web posters are starting polls to suggest replacements, names are being pulled out the tuckus and the writing appears on the Facebook Wall that fans have the current coaches on a very short leash.
The "Fan Boards" that normally are supportive of both the coaches and players are now leaning toward the negative and pessimism is the order of the day. Dreams of the sweet 16 have turned to worry about not making the NIT. An eerie silence has descended on the recruiting process to the point where similarities can be drawn to the last days days of Mike Jarvis who hinted he would recruit only JC players and forgo dealing with high school coaches. The staff have been absent at their major targets' games but maybe, just maybe, they have taken a page out of the Mike Jarvis recruiting handbook and are attending, incognito, some junior college games.
Tha fact remains that this team has the sheer number of players to beat anyone yet on only 4 occasions have they gotten off the same bus. No one knows who will show up for the remaining games and that includes the coaches.
Of course should this team miraculously win the Big East Tourney there will be a lot of crow on the menu for many fans hoping for an apocalypse rather than a Phoenix (or that big red storm bird) rising from the ashes.

BK you are absolutely right! This sucks!

That would be an amazing groundswell of opposition in a very short time. Certainly warranted though.
When people realize they've been sold a lemon, they can turn on you very quickly

Press availability session tomorrow, unless cancelled due to weather, should be interesting.

No need to worry about this team making a run thru the BET. Nothing we have seen to date forecasts that. Hopefully Lavin realizes he is in over his head, settles with University and foes back to TV. And I also admit I was wrong about hiring him.

Fair article and I think most of what he says is very accurate. That being said, I doubt Lavin doesn't doesn't want to be here and I wonder who the source to program is. This is complete hearsay but source could be hicks (maybe not leaving on good terms). College coach is probably Pecora. Guy wants this job so bad-lol!
