Guys, the issue is what fully vaccinated means. Everything I have heard says vaccination (meaning two shots of Moderna/Pfizer or one shot of J&J) gets you not very good protection against Omicron but a booster gets you very good protection. I seriously doubt that too many college athletes have gotten the booster yet so these non-serious cases will occur.   Not trying to get political, but the idea that vaccination status doesn't matter is hallucinatory at best.

I agree that vaccination definitely protects against severity requiring hospitalization and death. I hope you are right about booster.

I really appreciate you steering clear of politicizing this and respect you a lot for that.

So do I Beast, too early to tell for sure but that is what I'm hearing from folks I respect.

Covid cases would be non-serious for generally healthy college students regardless of if they're 2-shot vaxed, boosted, or not vaxed at all. The data has been clear on that for about 18 months now. Your claim about the booster providing very good protection is hopefully correct, but there's no data available to prove this yet, in fact Israel is already pushing a 4th shot on their citizens.

Unfortunately, I joined the long list of those testing positive for covid today. Really thrown for a loop.

Get better soon.

Hopefully they don’t pull the plug on fans. In the meantime, and knowing the risk of that happening, I hope everyone attends as many games as they can before the rug gets pulled (assuming folks are comfortable doing so). These kids work hard and deserve it.

I went to the Gtown/SJU game before the world shut down in March 2020. My sons 3rd St John’s game and my daughters first (they are young). Both still talk about it today. We plan on being there tomorrow as well.

If you’re vax’d you should be okay. Drink lots of water and catch up on some TV and books.
You’re on my prayer list.

Hope you stay asymptomatic Delaware. Sit back, rest and watch our Johnnies; sorry forgot that resting and watching our Johnnies doesn't compute.

I hope you are feeling better.   I believe you are in Florida, correct?   Florida had terrific numbers vs. Delta variant, but their surge was earlier than other states.   I have lots of relatives in Florida, and they've been a lot less careful about being out and about.   Are you triple vaccinated?

We know a lot of people getting sick who've been vaccinated.   Most concerned for a young married couple with a 1 year old.  All three have tested positive, and mom and dad were vaccinated.

I don't think discussing the networks is productive.    Not everyone agrees with shots at any networks, so better to keep it off of here.

For the record, Wallace is not unbiased, but he is more of an old school journalist who is fair to both sides for the most part.
Unbiased=fair to both sides. /media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png/media/kunena/emoticons/grin.png
Check the definitions.  He's definitely not non-partisan.   Unbiased means he doesn't have a bias towards one side or the other.  In today's climate media typically outwardly shows their bias.   He mutes that better than most, but he is not unbiased.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I am vaccinated with Moderna last spring. Got it in Florida. Hopefully a mild case. Still on Long Island. Heading to Venice on January 15th. As a 4 sport High School offical here in Nassau County, had to give back a bunch of basketball games through the next 14 days. Was trying to get the Moderna booster, but fitting it in with my officiating schedule was problematic in the event I had a reaction. Well that's not an issue any longer.

I just received my Pfizer booster in CT.  Spent two weeks trying to find a place I could get it before the holidays with no luck.  There was some limited availability but like you I had scheduling conflicts.

Finally went on the CT   gov website and found the listing for the mobile vaccination centers.   Got it the next day for free, less than 10 people on line before me and maybe 5 waiting when I left.  Any one looking in CT should check it out.

There is a backlog at CVS and Walgreens in NYC  and Nassau now. You have to be willing to go a distance or look for alternative options.

As for Florida the state was very low on its COVID rates as has been much of the south. Have noticed a huge increase this week in Southeast Florida and with lots of people continuing to descend from the North it will catch up soon. Have to hope this goes by fast and by that I mean at least two months with the best possible scenario for the unvaccinated particularly those that haven't had COVID and have no antibodies, and we come out of this with greater immunity but absolutely no one knows. I am just hoping for the best in what seems like a dim winter

I had it back in Feb. Not fun but thankfully not a terrible case. Mostly fatigue. Wishing you, Greg Bodkin and anyone else who has it, a mild case and a speedy recovery

You joined the club as well. I've been sick all week and I can't get the antibody infusion because the system is being overwhelmed.
Fell better my fellow Redmen fan. I know that this really sucks!
