NJIT Game

By the way...didn't I tell you all to relax at halftime?

Yes, but one of these games we will not be able to dig a 14 pt hole or whatever it was at half and climb right back.

This was NJIT, which was the biggest reason I said to calm down.

Hopefully the free throw thing was an aberration, but they really need to learn to box out on the boards and blocks. I've never seen such a good team at blkocking the shot be so bad at rebounding it. These are fundamentals they need to work on.

Also, they were clearly thinking ahead to their flight. These are young guys, you're going to get games like this from 18-20 year olds. Sanchez can't get cleared soon enough.

Garrett should be shooting 1000 free throws tonight..that was pathetic

Garrett probably should not have been playing at the end of the game, along with Sir Dom. Should be easiest shot next to layup.

Disagree big time; Pointer makes our D go and is an improving offensive player. A real glue guy and very valuable.

I agree on Pointer. He plays the top of the zone so tough. Incredibly quick for his size, a nightmare for opposing point guards. You really have to be at the games to appreciate it.

Who would get a rebound if Garrett sat? Garrett and Sampson are the only "bigs" that hit the glass. Sure, the kid needs to hit his freebies, but he wasn't a terrible FT shooter last season. He needs to bend his legs more and he'll be fine. Missing the first couple can get in your head.

Obepka played well down the stretch, Sampson dominated the boards-- crowd was decent-- my son caught a shirt from a cheerleader-- awesome day!

Great for your son. My nephew is 0-4 on the tee-shirt toss his last two games...we'll figure it out eventually. Tee-shirt toss is a tough nut to crack... We just got to drill hard, and remember our lessons about boxing out, and eventually we'll grab one. Kudos to him though - he paid attention to the whole game. He's been assimilated.

Did your son box out the other kids to get in position? Hey, tell him to keep it up and he can be one of our rebounders down the line ^5

So your nephew is the Christian Jones of tee-shirt toss?

Funny..I always tell my nephew to make eye contact with the cheerleader...better chance of them throwing it your way...of course, if one of their friends happen to be sitting in the section, you're SOL...LOL

So your nephew is the Christian Jones of tee-shirt toss?

Yes, he certainly is. He was very lightly recruited coming out of his first pre-school class. But based on some mash-up youtube videos of his play-time he’s landed a spot a prestigious program. Expectations ramped up out of control, and he’s disappointed some to start. However, a recent time-out enforced by head of the family has lit a fire underneath him. He’s ready to get back to it and prove himself.

Well played, my friend. Well played.

A win is a win especially when you play bad. Now as mentioned earlier this may have been kind of a trap game with the big trip out west looming. Let's hope so.

The real question is does Jakaar Sampson = Walter Berry, as his stats today are reminiscent of those of Walter.
